If Jesus was alive today

If a time machine transported the long dead Jesus forward in time to the 21st century, I wonder how he would react to what is being said and done in his name? Some Christian extremists drag through the sewer Jesus and the faith, which was created well after he died, with him as the figurehead.

I have no time for those who use the Bible as an excuse to bolster their unpleasant behaviour like a hatred of homosexuals. As I have said many times, it is possible Jesus could have been gay as the Bible mentions he had a specific disciple whom he loved, who was likely to have been a male. He never condemned, homosexuality, which is not one of the ten commandments either.

I suspect if he had been a decent sort of guy Jesus would be shocked at how the Bible is interpreted by extremists. 'Depart from me for I never knew you', might be the expletive he would use if he encountered them.

Whilst my husband and I don't see it their way, we have no problem with moderate live and let live Christians, who often do a lot of good in this world, like our own three daughters, of whom we are very proud. I reckon Jesus would be proud of people like them too.:)

All that know Jesus, knows he is alive in heaven. King of Gods kingdom, He sat on his throne here at Revelation 6. And since it teaches peace was taken from the earth= world war, not just a war.-1914-1919(Rev 6)--Means revelation is very far along now. Jesus will bring Gods kingdom rule to the entire inhabited earth soon.
True followers do not hate the homosexual, they hate the act of sex they do. As Gods word condemns it at 1 Corinthians 6:9-11) Along with various other sex acts including sex out of marriage by a man and woman.( fornication)
Few on earth actually know the real Jesus. Few actually know what he teaches. When I show them, they reject it even though every teaching is in their bible. Yes 99% of all religion claiming to be Christian isn't.

That's just more of your usual horse manure.

First, most Christians don't HATE homosexuals as you claim. They disapprove of homosexual sin, gay marriage, and the gay community ramming their illicit pro-gay agenda down the throats of school children, etc. PEOPLE DON'T NEED TO KNOW WHICH WAY OTHERS PERFORM SEX ACTS. NEITHER DO CHILDREN.

Second, Jesus is God in the Bible and he never endorsed homosexual relations. As God, Jesus is the one who gave Moses the Leviticus law against gay sexual relations to begin with; and he’s the one who inspires all Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16), including prohibitions against gay sexual relations in Romans 1:26-27 and I Corinthians 6:9-10, etc. It’s also worth noting that Jesus didn’t mention wife beating or other sins such as pedophilia either, and there are not many folks who would argue he approved of those behaviors. So Jesus was under no obligation to reiterate the moral laws against homosexual sin that already existed, unless there were clarifications to be made.

What's more, there's no approval of gay sex or gay marriage in either the Old or New Testaments. And certainly not by Jesus. So get some better arguments.

My belief is that He already returned and the Christian world rejected Him. Their expectations of Him descending upon clouds with angels in the sky never literally actually came to pass so they rejected Him. He wasn’t homosexual but He is against the discrimination of anyone.

At that time He taught to love thy neighbour, now He teaches to love all humanity.

Do you have any evidence for that?

It's not time yet for his return. Various end-time events still need to occur first.

The Jews said similar things which led them to be blinded to the truth of Jesus.
All their self opinionatedness did was close their minds to the Beauty of Jesus and turn them away from the truth.

Today, similarly, all the conflicting and divisive interpretations of the Bible have done is turned Christians away from Jesus when He returned as they failed to grasp the true significance of the meanings of the Gospels with regards to His return. And So they have remained deprived of His return and still await His coming when those who have understood the signs have been already lifted up with Him.

I haven't seen any of that in the church. The Christians I know have not turned away from Jesus and none of them believe he has already come. They're expecting him at the end of the age, if not sooner in the Rapture.

if one accepts Jesus first coming but has rejected His Second coming then they have proven to be unfaithful to Him. To remain faithful to Jesus one must needs accept both times when He appeared not only the one time.

We are already in a new age. The end of the age has come and gone. All things have been made new.

I am afraid it is going to take an act of God in order for Christians to stop waiting for the same Jesus to appear in the clouds, and we may well see that act of God eventually, since God is probably getting impatient. It is too bad so many people might have to suffer when that could have been avoided. :(

“The world is in travail, and its agitation waxeth day by day. Its face is turned towards waywardness and unbelief. Such shall be its plight, that to disclose it now would not be meet and seemly. Its perversity will long continue. And when the appointed hour is come, there shall suddenly appear that which shall cause the limbs of mankind to quake. Then, and only then, will the Divine Standard be unfurled, and the Nightingale of Paradise warble its melody.” Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 118-119

I often wonder taking a time machine back.

...

But Jesus told:

Don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn't come to destroy, but to fulfill. For most assuredly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished. Whoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mat. 5:17-19

And in OT homosexuality is not accepted.

Religions that we know very well are not created by the people mentioned in them as messengers, prophets or sometimes even the writers of their scripture. They are created by the adherents.

So if any of these figures come back, they would be pretty surprised.

Why?

Anyway, I think it should be clear even without saying that gay sex is not reasonable, not good for your health and also disgusting thing.

You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestible [=disgusting thing].

I believe he would not be lowering the taxes on the wealthy while ensuring the rise of taxes on the middle class. I believe he would not be separating children from their immigrant parents. I believe he would not abandon his allies to military destruction. I believe he would not support "grabbing women by their pu**ies".

What a very unpleasant attitude you have, gay sex is NOT wrong only in the heads of anti-gay bigots. I do hope that guy Jesus had been gay and had a great sex life.
