Book IV of Psalms seems to have an expanding call to the nations
The prelude refers to the promise that the messiah will crush the serpent
It ends on a dark note with man being sinful and unfaithful.
and yet God being faithful, will keep his promises

How does your view reach to the world?
or does it keep to itself?
John 20:23 "If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Which is spoken to Jesus' Jewish disciples. Hence he places upon them the gift of atoning for everyone by this means. Its very challenging and gets a lot of them killed, but they do a great job. Obviously some are a little bit scared of doing this; and they do things differently. This is, however, how Jesus defines the fulfillment of restoration prophecy and so forth. He envisions this as world changing. We can see this in the gospels, the things he says to the Samaritan Lady, the things his mother prophesies about him, the things other people say about him. According to the story in Mark 16, his twelve disciples go all over the world seeking out all the other Jewish remnants and announcing this to them. Finally according to Acts we have new apostles appearing who are not Jesus twelve, and these include Paul and some others and speak not to Jews but to everybody. Paul goes so far as to style himself as the apostle to the gentiles. One might credibly wonder why only one apostle to the Gentiles while the Jews get twelve, however I doubt he is the only apostle to the gentiles. I don't know, maybe. Maybe he is or maybe he isn't. The question is whether Christ considers there to be anyone now who is a gentile, since Paul says there is neither Jew nor Gentile. Hence maybe that is how he is the only apostle to the gentiles.

The business of the Christian sects is to save immortal souls. From what?

Immortal souls don't need saving because immortal souls are deathless souls.:p And they don't exist in mortal man.

Man has been condemned to return to the dust he was made of. So, in order to save someone, they need to believe the gospel, be baptized into Christ, and render the obedience of faith.

My belief is as Rumi wrote:

“Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”

In my belief it is fine to call people to virtuous behaviour, but calling them to God is unnecessary since God will reveal to them as God pleases, and it won’t effect their salvation.

This Is pretty much what I was just thinkIng. Sanātana Dharma, popularly known as Hinduism, is less a religion than a way of “right living”, for the individual soul as well as mankind. Worship of the gods or God is incidental and optional. To that end my relationship with God is between me and God. And that’s because I believe He called me, for whatever reason He has in mind. I’m not obligated to share it with anyone, unless they approach me to learn.

The only calling in my faith is God calling the individual or the individual calling God. What other people do is nobody's business. But the nature of proselytising faiths seems to be calling out to people to come agree with me and my outfit.
And don't forget the always used and nasty insult of "well, we won't tell you how to believe, it's your choice to ignore the truth". Too funny. Never once in all of their "non" proselytizing do any of them realize what arrogant and nasty humans they come across when they proclaim they know what their "God' wants, have the truth and can only do so much to teach everyone else with their "Truth". Disgusting really.

Personally, I prefer 'the truth hurts', as the most insulting. As if! Very different paradigms. It's like we live on two different planets really. My God loves you just as you are, but your 'God' condemns me to hell unless I change. It's almost too silly to be comprehensible.

Well, your God may be real to you, but it's definitely not The One Real God. And of course, you are always wrong if you don't believe in their real god. The entire thing is ridiculous I agree. But you know, you can lead a horse to water....another fav insult. I really don't understand why people cannot seem to keep their personal beliefs to themselves. Who cares?? It's always been and always will be a divisive and arrogant practice.

I've learned to ignore, and the karma has it now so there is rarely any association of any kind. But I do tread carefully. I won't wear forehead marks into a motel while traveling along a bible belt.

Good idea. Fortunately there are more Abraham followers who are getting it that everyone is entitled to what ever belief they choose and it's none of their business. It's a step forward for them. Going further, if they can stop thinking to themselves that God is going to punish the "non-Abraham" believers somehow, some way, they will have really matured into adult thinking and compassionate behavior. Even in the bible belt hopefully some day soon, you won't have to worry about your forehead marks reflecting off their shiny crosses. As it should be.

Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.

(this may seem favoritism, but everyone getting on the bus gets on the same bus)

As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” Circumcision has value if you observe the Law, but if you break the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. If a man who is not circumcised keeps the requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?

And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law? For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

No, we accept a hundred ways of belief. The truth is entirely personal - for example for me there is no God, no soul, no creation, no birth, no death, no rebirth, no heaven, no hell, no salvation. And I am an orthodox Hindu, all according to scriptures. My friends here, Vinayaka, Jai, Terese, SomeRandom, Salix, Atanu have views different from mine and from each other. But still, we respect each other and their views. Many people, many views. That is perfectly OK.

Yes, thank you. I believe we are of the same mindset on this issue. Hindus and Buddhist or followers of Buddha's teachings, agree that trying to force (your) religion or doctrines or threats of big bad God gonna get you, are childish, arrogant, harmful and useless for understanding and finding our relationships with the unknown, or spiritual, gods or what ever one wants to call the unknown .

People need to accept the path of others without expecting nor demanding change to their own view, nor judge another person's personal path if that path is in the spirit of living a fruitful and compassionate life. Those paths meant to change, judge, condemn, hate or control the lives and paths of others are just plain wrong.

Do we agree?

Bold above is my edit. Not just for finding our relationships with the unknown, but also finding the relationships with those people you feel you need to convert. Proselytising (sharing, teaching, etc.) almost by definition excludes listening. It's a one way street. I preach, you listen. It's so inhumane and arrogant, totally ignoring the other side's POV, which has at least an equal chance of having far more knowledge that you will ever have. How about approaching someone with, "Please tell me about your life, I want to learn something. and it looks like you have something I could learn about."
