I have heard that some people are born psychic. And as they get older their powers get stronger.Up to a point where they can use their powers. How does this work? Is it just demons?

No demons involved, just gullibility.

I think nobody understands the paranormal, but perhaps it is not that people age but that they have time to discover themselves? As you grow up you discover things about yourself you didn't know such as how other people perceive you. Maybe its like that? Or perhaps it is like learning to wiggle your ears? I can do that a little, but its not easy.

I personally have little experience with paranormal powers. I think I must have a mental block, but I have very rarely experienced them.

Having lived with one with psychic abilities I can offer a little anecdotal insight. She's had the ability to converse with those that have passed and to see auras around people since childhood. As she got older these "gifts" intensified. When she would mention what she was experiencing to her parents and friends, they, of course, tried to convinced her that it was just her imagination. As she grew older her ability grew with her. It almost drove her crazy. Then I came along and believed in her. I made the effort to learn as much on the subject as I could find. I had to help her learn how to control the "chatter" that constantly surrounds her, and to not fear her gift. Now she can let "entities" come through on her terms. She usually restricts her messages to those who we have just met and have had loved ones pass over. It is very comforting and, as you can imagine, emotional. She knows details about the deceased loved one even though she has never met them and had only recently met the living person. After living with this one for almost 50 years, and experiencing this phenomena first hand, all I can say is I don't "not believe".

BTW, when it comes to her psychic abilities I refer to myself as her "Tonto".

It is true, as I have people in my own family who had this ability. (My grandmother and her mother) Before I had any knowledge of the Bible, I just assumed that these people had a “gift”...being able to foresee future events, or to experience communication with the spirit world.

But when I was a teenager my grandmother gave us her ouija board and we had fun with it that afternoon, but when it indicated a certain date, we laughed and tried to think what could occur on that future date.....you can imagine our shock when my father suddenly died of a massive heart attack on that very day.

I took that ouija board out and burned it! After that my thoughts turned to finding out what happens to the dead. Some time later JW’s called at my door and just to stir them up, I asked them to tell me what happens to the dead, thinking that they would have no answers like everyone else.....they not only had the answers about where the dead are, but also explained my experience with the ouija board.

There definitely are certain individuals who possess ability to communicate with the spirit world but they are actually being fooled into believing that these spirit entities are simply the harmless spirits of the dead who have passed. There are no spirits of the dead alive in the spirit world, and these spirits are not who they claim to be, and do not have good intentions toward humans. If they appear to be harmless, then you haven’t given them reasons to oppose you. Once these people learn the truth, these spirit entities can get very nasty.

There is a reason why God’s word forbids contact with spirits. (Deuteronomy 18:9-21)

Many of those who have become JW’s who live in nations where spiritism is common, have had problems with harassment from these spirits once they tried to oppose them. Best to never invite them into your life.

Respectfully, you don't know what you're talking about...

Equally respectfully, I believe I do know exactly what I am talking about, both from personal experience and from the Biblical perspective. I have had personal encounters with the demons myself....I assure you, they were anything but friendly. Your perspective may not involve the scriptures, in which case you can believe whatever you wish.

Those who reside in the spirit realm know everything about everyone since they have been in existence since before humans were created. They have a vested interest in perpetuating their leader’s first lie that was told in Eden...”you surely will not die”...but God says we do. According to scripture, death is the cessation of life, not life in a different form, in a different realm. (Ecclesiastes 9:5;10)

There is a reason why God forbids contact with the spirits. And it is the reason why angels always appeared in material form. After his resurrection, so did Jesus, even though he was resurrected as a spirit, he presented himself in human form.

If you do not subscribe to the scriptures and follow their counsel, then you have nothing to argue with....do you?

Well, thankfully, all of our ghosts have been friendly. I guess you get what you seek...

Wow! That is interesting. I'm half inclined to disbelieve people. I generally don't say anything, but I don't usually take paranormals seriously. You can hardly blame me, because they often say very weird things and because a lot of people have mental problems and can't seem to hold on to reality or the memory of it. Its refreshing to hear your story.

If I hadn't been personally involved in many of these incidents i would be right there with you (don't get me started about the 'orbs'). I still take everything with a grain of salt, but I can't discount what I've been privileged to. BTW, it's not scary like a Hollywood movie garbage, it's almost mundane...
