When I was young, I saw not only Zero Hour, but Runway Zero-Eight, and Airport, plus a boodle of other aviation movies and TV shows...All of which Airplane! marvelously lampoons.
The wikipedia article for zero hour shows the tangled web of creation and use of the genre...
