Do you believe in Bigfoot?I do.:)

A woman told this story about being in a tent and seeing this
bigfoot creature in the moonlight. The details were quite
extraordinary - and kind of believable.
But... then she went back to her car the next day and there
was a small gift the bigfoot had left on her car. So she lost
me right there.

Here's how I see it.

Every fall, for many, many decades, thousands of elk and deer hunters go into the deepest parts of the forests all over the Pacific Northwest (where bigfoot is most commonly claimed to exist). If you've ever done that and/or worked at a check station, you'll know that the hunters shoot all sorts of things. Sure, most of them shoot deer and elk, but a lot of them shoot dogs, cats, bears, people, each other, all sorts of "incidental wildlife"....you name it.

Yet in all these decades, not once has any of them ever shot a bigfoot. Given a minimum population size for such a large primate to persist, it's a very safe bet that bigfoot simply doesn't exist.

That made me think.:)But i am still not sure.

I'm always fascinated by these "do you believe in...." questions.

Why would anyone believe in (accept as being real) something for which there is simply no evidence. And especially when evidence should be so relatively easily produced.

So, on that note, do you believe that mass warps space-time? (That's Einstein, General Theory of Relativity, 1915). I do. And I do because Einstein showed exactly how you could look for evidence, and that occurred in 1919, and has been demonstrated much more clearly, and with more accuracy due to better equipment and methods, ever since.

Evidence, a pretty good reason to consider believing something. No evidence, a pretty good reason not to pay much attention.
