I'm a big fan of the neuroscientist Andrew Newberg. Just about any of his books. I've been reading him for years. I also like neuroscientist Patrick McNamara's work.

And I just recently came across Thomas Metzinger's "The Ego Tunnel", which I haven't read yet. But I've been reading articles by and about Metzinger for years --- his book looks promising. By the way, Metzinger is a philosopher, but by some miracle he's a philosopher respected in the neuroscience community.

I've read some articles but don't follow this closely. To me it's quite natural that experiences would have an effect on the brain. But I reject the reductionist view that such experiences are solely the result of brain activity.
