Mike, do you realize what 'Swastika' means to a Hindu? Swastika is the our sign which indicates welfare of all, no one can be excluded. I have taken it as my avatara to bring this to the notice of the people of West. Just because it was used by a person who was neither an Indian nor a Hindu in the worst possible way, does not mean that we will change our views about it.

Jews have remained in India for some 2,500 years, were not subjected to any persecution. They were always allowed to follow their religion in peace and prosper in business. They even controlled a principality. We were sorry to see them leave their motherland and go back to Israel. Israel is a close friend of India in modern times.

"The Jewish leader Rabban was granted the rank of prince over the Jews of Cochin, given the rulership and tax revenue of a pocket principality in Anjuvannam, near Cranganore, and rights to seventy-two "free houses". The Hindu king gave permission in perpetuity (or, in the more poetic expression of those days, "as long as the sun and moon exist") for Jews to live freely, build synagogues, and own property "without conditions attached".

The swastika is also a meaningful symbol in early Christianity which adorns several churches

And even some synagogues too. We do not claim 'Swastika' as our own. It is a simple geometrical design used by many cultures. We never put it in black, that is considered inauspecious. It is always in pleasing colors, red, yellow or orange/ochre. Aryans/Hindus/Buddhist/Jains have associated it with universal welfare and prosperity.

Buddhist, Jain, Hindu. Now, is that evil?

France is 92% White European French, Germany is 90%, UK is 87% and I've heard 87 stories on Islamic immigration, what a bunch of A-holes am I right? And! We're the ones that get no official designation of an American ethnicity.

The swastika predates the Nazi regime.

Speaking of swastika's.

The swastika in my avatar signifies fulfillment (victory) in reaching the ultimate spiritual goal.

Its vertical spoke stands for the unqualified aspect of the Supreme Consciousness (Purusha) and the horizontal spoke stands for the qualified aspect or expression of that Supreme Consciousness (Prakriti).
The side arms signify the dynamism in the creation resulting from the cosmic play of this seemingly dual Purusha and Prakriti (Shiva & Shakti).
These side arms should always point in one direction only (positive movement).

While I'm at it:

The downward pointing triangle represents the internal (subjective, meditative) work towards self-realization, the internally expressed Love for the Supreme.

The upward pointing triangle represents the external actions or work (social or selfless service), the externally expressed Love for the Supreme (internally sacrificed).

The rising sun stands for spiritual awakening (through the balance of internal and external efforts).

Those who were killed are no more. Germans, Russians, Europeans, Americans, Japanese, Indians too who fought along with the Allies. But we need the welfare of those who now live on earth - Humans, animals, Vegetation - as I said none excluded.
