eat babies - yet another wingnut right dirty trick exposed

Ouroboros

Coincidentia oppositorum
Not surprising both AOC and Trump fell for it. Like two peas in a pod.
AOC didn't really respond to the lady's suggestion. She responded with very few and neutral words. I'm not sure that's what I would consider "falling for it." If she had responded in negative and rebuked the lady, consider it was satire that would have been falling for it. Or if she had approved of the suggestion, also would have been falling for it. But only non-falling response would be a neutral or general response, not giving the satire credence at all, is in my view the only way to not fall for it.

I don't know if I would have reacted better but I just can't see taking this as serious.

Anyway not a not job just a protester on a mission.

There are scoundrels who try to score points
for their own side by poeing the other.

If you are going to pose as the opposing party, probably best not to take responsibility for the action.

Imagine if the LaRoache group hadn't claimed responsibility a lot of folks would still be taking her seriously.

Reminds me of something I read a while ago, something along the lines of:

There is a secretive sect which congregates beneath the ground. In their gruesome rites, they consume the flesh of babies and drink their blood. This perverse practice, they claim their founder exhorted them to do! In addition, they take their brothers and sisters for carnal pleasures. Good citizens of Rome, do they not deserve crucifixion?

This has been suggested before, with slightly better satire, by one Jonathan Swift (author of Gulliver's Travels), in a short piece called "A Modest Proposal."

It's too loopy an idea to be taken seriously.
But extreme elements would pretend to.

I'm curious at what point did politics shift so drastically. Lefty, right wing nut..... We have allowed politicians and the media to separate us into ever shrinking splinter groups united by a common belief or trait. People in power use unifying rhetoric to get us to segregate ourselves and then attack other people who have segregated themselves as well. I honestly don't know how we keep falling for it. My body my choice makes it a crime for a man to speak negatively about abortion because I'm somehow attacking a woman and her right to do whatever she wants with her body. It completely avoids avenues of discussion to take us anywhere but an emotionally charged shouting match in tead of cordiall, mutually respectful debate which could actually get something done. This whole"feel good" attitude is going to run this country if we let it.

Apologies for the rant...... I just want the labels gone, and mutual respect to make a come back. And not the second Michael Jordan kind of comeback, the first one.
