Republican Lawmaker Blasts Trump Over Civil War Threat

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Smack talk. Like a tough guy punk in the hood or the bario or the village. It's really sad you think the President of the United States should act like a street punk. ..........

Remember good old Teddy Roosevelt?

You didn't ask a question. My response suggested (sarcastically) that threats--even veiled ones--don't have length requirements.

Your response is nonsensical though.

There is a million different ways to make a veiled threat. It makes absolutely no sense that he would quote almost 500 words someone else said just to make a veiled threat. See how your argument doesn't stand up to scrutiny? Anyways this will be forgotten in a day or two anyways, because its BS and it won't stick just like everything else like all your debunked accusations in post # 73.

Well I'm done here see ya next scandal!

If there are a million ways, quoting someone else in a lengthy Twitter post is one of them. It does a good job of setting up the Democrats to take the fall for any blowback from the impeachment.

You've said it before, the President likes to troll. This becomes problematic--and dangerous--as a leader and policy maker.

Anyways this will be forgotten in a day or two anyways, because its BS and it won't stick just like everything else like all your debunked accusations in post # 73.

How were they debunked? They are all out there in Trump's own words.

Likely, Trump understands the transient nature of information in the digital world and uses it to his advantage. He apparently underestimates just how much some people remember. I remember a group of his supporters mobilizing as a militia and threatening violence if he didn't win the election. These are all included in the context of this issue.

Well I'm done here see ya next scandal!

Okie doke!

Democrats to take the fall for any blowback from the impeachment.

They will get blowback from the failed impeachment. We both know its isn't going to pass in the Senate.

You've said it before, the President likes to troll.

He sure do.

This becomes problematic--and dangerous--as a leader and policy maker.

By putting his words into context mostly.

Sure taken out of context and misrepresented.

I remember a group of his supporters mobilizing as a militia and threatening violence if he didn't win the election.

I remember Antifa burning down cars and destroying business in D.C because he got elected. You take threats of violence from the right more seriously than actual violence from the left, that's funny.

GOP lawmaker blasts Trump for quoting pastor warning of civil war over impeachment

I have three questions for anyone who is interested in answering them...

(1) I'm genuinely curious. How many people reading this believe -- or at least are willing to say they believe -- Trump did not intentionally threaten to start a civil war should he be successfully impeached and removed from office?

(2) Again, I'm just curious. If you think Trump did not intentionally threaten to start a civil war, then could you please state exactly and precisely what words you believe Trump or just about any national American politician would most likely use to threaten to start a civil war -- if that is what they wanted to do.

(3) On a scale of one to five, how politically astute, sophisticated do you believe yourself to be? The larger the number, the more astute, sophisticated.

I myself will NOT be debating any answers to those three questions. I am personally just curious. However, others might or might not debate responses to this OP.

My thought on this jumped ahead a bit-

Would he actually be prepared to let people die
so he can try to stay in office?

Bound to happen sooner or later. I wonder what the Trumpetttes thought they would end up getting when they voted for this guy. Because I have friends on the left who accurately predicted soon after the election that it would go at least this far.

I wish we could visit an alternate reality inwhich hillary
won, and, inwhich all the reasons she is a thoroughly bad
person came fully to light.

Likely both parties will (and already are) recieve blowback from the various fiascos from this administration.

He sure do.

I would suggest that trolling behavior is inappropriate to his position. He is a leader: a policymaker and the head of the military. Trolling tends to be disruptive.

An example is when he hinted at "...a coming storm" during a time of rising tensions with North Korea: White House won't clarify Trump's hints of military action

By putting his words into context mostly.

Sure taken out of context and misrepresented.

All right, let's check 'em out.

'“You know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. Okay? I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad. But the left plays it cuter and tougher. Like with all the nonsense that they do in Congress … with all this invest[igations] — that’s all they want to do is — you know, they do things that are nasty. Republicans never played this.”'
Nolte: 14 Media Outlets Spread Hoax About Trump Calling for Violence

'“They will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently, and violently. There’s violence. When you look at Antifa and you look at some of these groups — these are violent people,” the president said at the Monday meeting. “The level of hatred, the level of anger is unbelievable. Part of it is because of some of the things I’ve done for you and for me and for my family, but I’ve done them..."'

During rallies: "You know, part of the problem, and part of the reason it takes so long, is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore, right? And they’re being politically correct the way they take them out, so it takes a little bit longer. And honestly, protesters, they realize it. They realize that there are no consequences to protesting anymore. There used to be consequences, there are none anymore." Et al. FACT CHECK: Did Donald Trump Encourage Violence at His Rallies?

Surely there is a flavor of violence and some fomenting of fear in these, eh?

I remember Antifa burning down cars and destroying business in D.C because he got elected. You take threats of violence from the right more seriously than actual violence from the left, that's funny.

Oh yeah! I remember that too. As well as the violence from right wing groups where people got killed. I don't support violence from either side.

I think perhaps it's just the paranoid schizos that the left has become. Always reading in between lines, listening for dog whistles, everything is implied or veiled etc. The DNC just needs to add a tin foil that to their donkey mascot to update it as a current representation of the party.

If its paranoia on the left then that is a compensation for a cluelessness on the right.

Most Republicans seem strangely quiet these days.

Only for sticks in the mud with no sense of humor >eyes the entire Dem party<

From where many people with empathy and a knowledge of history stand, Trump has a very offensive sense of humor. His ignorance in this area is no excuse. He isnt educated enough to make for an adequate representative of the values of this country or the ethics to serve in our government.

By putting his words into context mostly.

His context is the entire country and so his offensive comments are in ignorance of the context he should be mindful of.

If there are a million ways to make a veiled threat, among them would include using a quote to serve one's purpose.
