Since it's extremely unlikely that the Senate will vote to convict, assuming the House impeaches, I'm just really interested in knowing how many members of the forum still see themselves as Trump supporters for the next election. Nothing complicated, we'll just assume that the Democrats put up one of the 4 real front runners (Biden, Buttigieg, Sanders or Warren), and the Republicans float Trump.

Would you vote for Trump as POTUS for another 4 years, yes or no?

Hold the arguments and vitriol, please, I'm just looking at overall intentions.

Not a US citizen but "would you" implies "if you could".
Also, you might be wrong that the senate will not convict. According to TYT a republican senator said that (in an anonymous vote) 35 republican senators would convict Trump.

Yes, that's my intent...I'm not a citizen, either, but the US is important in the world, so I think we all have an interest.

I won't even get to policy to vote no. I don't expect politicians to be saints or even close. And I discount campaign promises as well.

But Trump has exhibited all that is worst about America: lying, bragging about abusing women, name calling heroes, sucking up to dictators and abusing our friends, bigotry of all kinds and so forth.

And further, Republicans who I disagree with on policy have called him out for these things and accurately accused those in Congress as cowards saying that they would vote for impeachment but not in public.

Add on McConnell's public utter hypocrisy and I agree with Republicans who call for the party's historical defeat next year so they learn a lesson that won't be forgotten soon.

Trump definitely. Yes. That's the bottom line without going into sematics.

Only Yang or Gabbard can win my vote over Trump at this point.

In 2016 I was forced to vote for one of the two worst candidates ever nominated. I held my nose and voted for the least worse by .0001 %, Trump.

This election is different, I am forced to vote between Trump, and someone who has promised in essence, to destroy the economy, destroy decent medical care, raise taxes, allow a flood of aliens into the country who cannot support themselves, and eliminate constitutionally guaranteed rights, I will hold my nose again for Trump. No matter how bad that is, the opposite is horrible, and could start a civil war.

23 votes so far! Thank you all.

As you can see, I don't intend to criticize anyone, or to question their reasons. I would just like your honest vote, and any comment you'd care to make that explains your feelings.

I don't see how you could hold them so close, especially since one had a life-time of grooming as a politician and the other was just incompetent, even as a businessman.

The Senate may or may not impeach depending on the evidence. If the evidence is clearly overwhelming, the GOP has a difficult situation. The American people will hold the republican party responsible if the evidence is clear and they do nothing.
The republican party is on life support right now, going against the constitution will be their complete demise.

Why don't conservatives start a new party and ditch their corporate overlords?

I am not qualified to judge a billionaires business acumen. The clinton duo have gotten away with extremely unethical activities, and a criminal activity regarding her criminal negligence with her server. The clinton foundation was a slush fund for their extortion and illegal contributions.

You say she was groomed to be a politician. Personally I was sick of politicians from either party who are part of the elite. They all protect each other in astounding ways. Until recently taxpayer money was used to pay off accusers of any senator or representative, for sexual mis conduct. Think about that. They discovered a way to pay off and silence their victims with your money, and you never knew about it. It happened fairly frequently. That is the political elite covering each others fanny.

To me, clinton was an exceptionally great example of the elites, constantly protected by them.

I wanted absolutely no part of her.

I have enjoyed watching trump drive the elites absolutely bug nuts. They may get him in the end, but it has been a great show.

The accomplishments of his administration have been good too.

Didn't vote for him. Won't vote for him. Sometimes things need a little shaking up, though. I hope we've had enough shaking.
