Romans 9:27-29....
"Moreover, Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Although the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved. 28 For Jehovah will make an accounting on the earth, concluding it and cutting it short.” 29 Also, just as Isaiah foretold: “Unless Jehovah of armies had left an offspring to us, we should have become just like Sodʹom, and we should have resembled Go·morʹrah.”"
It was only ever prophesied that a "remnant" of natural Jews would be saved. The Jews as a nation will never bless the one who came in the name of Jehovah. Individuals from that nation will but not all. What is a remnant?
As Isaiah said "Unless Jehovah of armies had left an offspring to us, we should have become just like Sodʹom, and we should have resembled Go·morʹrah"......that is total annihilation. The "Israel of God" is not natural Israel. (Galatians 6:16) God chose a new nation to replace those unfaithful people. (Acts 15:14)
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17.....
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord."
The two resurrections mentioned in scripture indicate that those who are chosen to rule with Christ will be resurrected "first" (Revelation 20:6) and those who are still in their graves will hear Jesus call them out to a "
resurrection of life" or to a "
resurrection of judgment". (John 5:28-29) Both are called from the same place during the 1,000 year reign of Christ. There is no resurrection to death.
The thousand years of Christ's reign is allotted to bring redeemed humanity back into reconciliation with God. This means that the resurrection of all the dead must take place during the thousand years. Their "coming to life" in this instance is not their resurrection but the regaining of the original sinless life that God purposed for humans in the beginning. What Adam lost in Eden, Jesus bought back for us with the sacrifice of his own life. At the end of the thousand years, God will release the devil for one last test on the now sinless human race. (Revelation 20:1-3) Any who fail that test will experience the second death.....a place from which no one awakens. It is eternal death.
