No matter how little we might each think we are, we must still stand for what we know is right.
I haven't stopped doing that. I just don't stand for America any more. As you undoubtedly know, America has changed dramatically between the mid-20th century, when most of us here were born, to now. I loved that early America, and was proud of it. Its principles became mine.
This America is repulsive and no longer represents my values. This is me standing up for what I consider right.
Don't stop caring. Care. Stand up. Speak. Say your piece. Even if it's only here...
Thanks for your encouragement, but I think that I already do that. I have just stopped hoping that America won't continue to swirl the drain. I expect that. My attention, concern, and resources have been redirected elsewhere.
With all due respect, it's long past the time to discuss whether Trump is a criminal or not. If you don't think so yet, you never will. The evidence is available to those willing to consider it impartially. I'm at the point where I am convinced that Trump is a criminal and that America doesn't have the moral backbone to care. I consider it a lawless country, one whose laws nobody has any more reason to respect than its elected officials do. If they subpoena you, just say no.
