The names Jehovah and Yahweh.

Many religious groups believe that the names Jehovah or the name Yahweh are the true names of God. I will explain why that is not so.

First the name Jehovah.
The name Jehovah is a fictitious name of the catholic church, in the 14th or 15th century catholic theologians mixed the title "aOnAi" with "YHWH" and from this came "Jehovah". This re-vocalization of the Tetragram is called "Qere perpetuum".
The name Jehovah is wrong not only because it was created by a "mix", but also because the letters J, O and V are not present in the original Hebrew. The J is usually a Y and the V/W/O is a U (in original hebrew there are no J or V/W sounds). The majority of Jewish and Christian scholars also agree that the name Jehovah is clearly wrong.
(by the way, coincidentally "Hovah" means disaster Strong's Hebrew: 1943. הֹוָה (hovah) -- a ruin, disaster)

The name Yahweh.
It is the same as with the name Jehovah, the "w"(waw) is in the original Hebrew a "U" (Uau). And in the end it is not "eh" but "ah".

Yad (Y sound), Hay (AH sound), Uau (U sound), Hay (AH sound) are the 4 letters of the name. If we all connect then comes the name: YAHUAH
Yahuah is the original name of God.
The two short variants of the name Yahuah are "Yahu" and "Yah".

Why is the name of God important?
The name is very important because a name is personal, unique and a name gives the person identity.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of YAHUAH shall be Saved." ~ Romans 10:13; Acts 2:21

Interestingly is the meaning of the Paleo Hebrew symbols for the Tetragrammaton(YHUH):
"Behold(H) Nail(U), Behold(H) Hand(Y)"

And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
Zechariah 12:10

calm,
It seems that you are wrong! There is a book out now called, Debunking the Debunkerers. This book traces words back as far as is possible. He says the Name Jehovah is the correct way of pronouncing God’s sacred name.
Many people ty to bring up different reasons to show that Jehovah is not the correct pronunciation also, because they say there was no J in the English language until somewhere around 1600. He proved that wrong because Elijah had a J. Also many other names had a J. In fact the word Jah is a shortened name For Jehovah. The term Kere Perpetum was a symbol in the edges of the page to let the reader know to substitute the word in edge for the word in the text. The fact is, this is the way that the correct way to pronounce God’s Name was lost. The term for god was used, either El or Adonai, substituted for God’s Name YHWH that was in the text. Old Hebrew was a Consonantal language, it had no vowels, which is another reason why the correct pronunciation was lost.
Tell me one thing, Why does this matter so much to you??? You do know that God’s Name is pronounced differently in each language. In the very near future, God will let us know exactly how He wants His Sacred Name pronounced. At this date, all of His people will use the term Jehovah, because Jehovah means, He Causes to Become. If you think about that name, No one who has ever lived, can rightly use, carry that name, because no one but Jehovah can make all things, become, just as He wants them, to become, and no one else can!!!
Just make sure that you use His Sacred Name when you pray to Him, and He will know which God you worship, which is the Only True God, according to Jesus, John 17:3.
There are many names used, in the Bible to mean Jehovah, but all these names are Proper Adjectives, descriptive names, Not the Personal, Proper Name for the Almighty God Jehovah!!!

There are no names of God in reality. From the fallible human perspective the 'Source' some call God(s).has thousands of names with a cultural and linguistic perspective.

What is God? A three letter word for the 'Source' unknowable in names from the human perspective.

No, Elija doesn't have a "J" in his name.
Elijah's original Hebrew name is Aliyah, in modern hebrew his name is Eliyah. Strong's Hebrew: 452. אֵלִיָּה (Eliyyah) -- "Yah is God," a well-known prophet of Isr., also three other Isr.
Not a single Biblical person has a "J" in their name.

You can translate anything, but you can't translate names.
And that you find it okay to "translate" the name of God is your opinion.
And God has already shown us what his name is. (Look up)
But it is not Jehovah. Jehovah is clearly wrong, I don't understand why we have to discuss it, even most Bible scholars agree that this name is wrong.

calm,
Just about every name of the Hebrews, Israelites, had a meaning, and usually had something to do with God or God’s Name. Elijah meant Jehovah is God!
Here was no J in the Hebrew language, but if you look it up you will find that the letter I was pronounced like he J sound.
