New Religion

I think a new religion that was formed that unites all the people of the world based on the here and now would be neat. One that actually worked where billions of people followed. I think that would be pretty cool. I mean why not? We're always coming up with new stuff why stop now. Most of the religions that were created in the last say 50 years haven't had that many followers. I mean if one wants to leave any of the religions now that's cool if they don't then that's cool too. I doubt it will ever happen but it's fun to think about

Starting a new religion, and it not becoming a cult like the rest, is impossible, until we recognize that Moses established a council of elders, and a statutory law system, as did Muhammad...

Religion should be the social morality boundaries that we all aspire to, not just some of us, else it doesn't work.

In my opinion. :innocent:

Such a unifying movement would not be yet another religion next to other religions but rather an ideology that would be unifying on all the people of this planet irrespective of their cultural background.

The most universal ideologies in this world are trans-sectarian in nature, they don't take a sectarian viewpoint themselves, they lack dogma's and irrational theories and they without exception cultivate a mystic approach to spiritual practices, not a religious one. What they share is the neo-humanistic (spiritual-humanistic) spirit.

People in the world are already all connected in multiple ways. We share the same blood, the same DNA, the same air and water, the same physical laws like gravity. We are all trapped here on this spheroid, paddling the same little canoe around the sun year after year. We can't get away. We're in it for the long haul, so I don't think a single religion is needful.

Religion exists to answer the four great existential questions:

1. Who am I?
2. Why am I here?
3. What does it all mean?
4. What is going to happen to me when I die?

There's a really interesting psychology book I read that talks about the "Divine Child" archetype as being the source of all spirituality. You might find it interesting:

Each of us faces dragons, demons, and monsters dragging us down into the abyss. A come to Jesus moment. This video explains the common thread in all religions in learning how to become more than you ever imagined you would ever be:

I'm not sure having one Universal religion is the answer. I think the answer is each of us needs to do the work of finding out our sufficient answers to the four great existential questions. Nobody can do the work for us. It's an individual journey. And if you see the Buddha on the road, kill him!

There is no need for a new religion. There is need to stop calling 'other' religions as fakes.

The thing about religions is they all claim to be the true religion. Counting sects and denominations of all religions, there may be more than 100,000 altogether. If you believe your religion or sect of religion is the one true religion, then you only have a 1 in 100,000 chance of being right. They can not all be right, but they can all be wrong.

Every new religion is just one more additional religion.
