Finite universe

The thought of the universe being finite doesn't make me feel good internally. I know people will say the idea of an infinite universe is an unfinished theory but that's how I like to look at it because when I do I feel a weight lifted.

Hmmm. Is the infinite finite? Sounds dumb I know. But, people keep asking

That the universe is finite has been known since Olbers and his paradox. (Olbers' paradox - Wikipedia)
Your feelings don't change reality. But you may find comfort in the idea that the cosmos may not be finite.

I would be more intrigued that universal existence has absolute origins.

I wonder if entropy is a one way street only; low to high. And the implications of that. Or somehow from time to time existence cycles back to low entropy from a maximum entropy.

Why does it matter to you in any practical sense?

In terms of whether our physical existence, which includes our universe and all possible universes, is finite or infinite is unknown and most likely never will be known, because infinity is defined simply as there is always something beyond what is known. The same problem exists whether our physical existence is temporal or eternal. It is unknown, though the Quantum World that underlies our macro existence is likely in some way timeless.

Could you explain the difference between the universe and the cosmos??
The universe is our bubble of space-time. It contains every force and every particle expressed in the Big Bang. The cosmos is a theoretical umbrella that also contains possible parallel universes and previous universes.

Entropy is only an issue at the macro level and not at the micro level of Quantum Mechanics.
