In which book is this located?

I have a micro-library of spiritual books and I cannot remember in which one the following story/quote is located:

Someone asks a spiritual leader when a person completes his/her spiritual path, can that person be trusted. He replies something about when a demon becomes god-realized, etc.

I haven't been able to remember where I read it or by whom for several years now and I sure would like to find it. I am very happy to have found this popular forum and would appreciate some help. Thanks.
