Biblical schizophrenia

For any psychiatrist (who is also unbeliever in demons), these Bible passages are descriptions of schizophrenia. Therefore, schizophrenia is the demonic possession that does not give in to exocism of priests, but is only cured by God himself. Demotion is not a sentence. Many demonic ones are saved by this difficult and dangerous cross. Jesus Christ came to Earth to heal our diseases. All diseases. Any. Where then is schizophrenia in the Bible?

2 Corinthians 12:7-9:

because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of satan, to torment me. For this thing I besought the LORD thrice, that it might depart from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Romans 7:14-25:

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our LORD! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Opponent: "this is bi-polarity"

Me: "So, there are two poles in Paul: good and evil. This means that a person has a split personality. A split was always considered a schizophrenia."

Opponent: "Schizophrenia is not from demons, but from abnormal processes in the brain."

But can a demon to spoil and disrupt the physical and chemical processes in the brain?

Mark 9:16-28:

“What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.
A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
“You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”
“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. (READER!!! LOOK AT THIS!!! THESE ACTIONS ARE FROM schizophrenia, NOT THE EPILEPCY!!!) But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

Schizophrenia is really kind of a “split personality”: in your body, you are and your demon tempter is. The demon sometimes forces you to smoke and to drink, and to self-mutilate.

The consensus of the Holy Fathers of the Church teach, that demons cannot read our thoughts. But if the demon is in your brain, then he hears your every thought. Therefore, sometimes you feel yourself, that all demons in the world know everything about you; and you notice, that your inner prayer burns and hurts you: but in fact it is your inner demon avenges you for your prayer.

Many talented people suffered from schizophrenia. Van Gogh, perhaps?

Opponent: "down with the doctors who are dis-believers!"

Not so simple. Doctors make a compromise, as it is believed that God is not scientifically proven. But they themselves understand everything, and prescribe medications that help.

Opponent: "Why does the anti-schizoid medication help?"

We treat the consequences of demonic attacks. Demons do mess, they change the chemistry in the brain; but the medication restores order. Demons change chemistry of the brain to defeat the will of the victim. The victim resists the absurd thoughts with his mind, using the capabilities of the brain. So the invisible demons spoil and disrupt the work of the mind.

Opponent: "and who told you that the Holy Scripture is not from satan?"

If all books are considered untrue, or dubious, then how do you reason and firmly stand on your feet? We choose for ourselves which books we like and which we trust. I FEEL THAT GOD IS. And that scripture is not from the enemy. I know God: John 10:14.

Religiosity and various religious delusions are common symptom of mental illness. You'll see examples in any mental hospital. Absent hospitals, it's easy to see how a charismatic religious fanatic might gather a following.

"Had there been a lunatic assylum in the suburbs of Jerusalem, Jesus Christ would infallibly been shut up in it at the outset of his public career."

That seems to be the key question here. So, all you need to do is formally define exactly what you mean by “demon” and the specific mechanism you’re proposing they use to alter chemical processes in the brain and we can construct some scientific experiments to test your hypothesis.

Or you could just keep on selectively quoting extracts of your preferred religious text and pretend that means anything to anyone who doesn’t already want to believe exactly what you do.
