I just want Gun's treated like Car's

You have to pass a written and field test to get a license
You have to register the Gun
You have to have insurance to protect against accidents (like a mother shooting her daughter)

Then for some Gun's (AR-15)
You need the first level complete
You need an additional license (Like a CDL) This license will have additional regulations (like truck and bus drivers)
It will have an additional written and field test.

Sounds sensible to me. Mandatory safe storage requirements, too.

That's close enough to what I would like to see that I could go for it. But for weapons like the AR-15 or the .50 semi-automatic BMG, I'd like them not to be legal outside of a firing range.

Given that the moment you fire a gun, you have to be ready to take responsibility for your actions... I hope they take away the mom's gun.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

It's a why I'm an advocate for training classes before a gun is released to the new owner.

What I like about this story is the police chief's advice that, when you get up in the night for a pee in America, you need to "announce yourself" to everyone else in the building, to avoid being shot!
30 years ago, there was a Doonesbury comic about Uncle Duke shooting someone by accident, because he liked to "soften up a room before entering it". This was played for laughs as extremely ridiculous. Now it's policy.
