Concerning so-called "Faith Healers."

So, I heard a guy on television this week make this comment concerning the plague of charismatic, prosperity gospel faith healers. He said; "If these people really have this power to heal the sick, and they don't go to St. Judes children's Hospital, and the like and heal these very sick children, then my question is, why not?"
Personally, I know the answer. They're a bunch of predators who prey on the gullible while making huge profits for themselves. Whether you agree with me or the person I quoted or not, I would like your thoughts.

They are evil people who abuse others for gain in the name of religion and need to be stopped.

Well. I believe as you believe. Anyone who claims to do miracles and faith healing etc in the name of God in any institution a dime is involved are all predators. All. Be it Charismatic church, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or any other whatever.

There could be some who do really believe they have some faith healing powers with some mental illness but they could be honest. You could easily identify them by their refusal to take a cent till they die for these things.

There could be some people who actually can heal. I dont know. Maybe they have some special some kind of power. I dont negate that though. It could be a chi energy or something. Maybe.

With you 100% on this. The tricky part is, how to stop them as their followers are voters in a particular voting block. If a political party is in the majority and the followers of these charlatans make up the bulk of said parties supporters, then the prospect of stopping these predators is very slim. Unfortunately, this is the situation in the USA.

I can't really see a way of stopping it besides a culture shift, which would take a while. It already seems to be happening though.

The faith healers in small churches are not doing as much damage as say the tv evangelist is. On

the other hand there have been reports of kids who did at small church because they're parents would not take them to the drs office. They got healed instead.

But the tv evangelists are the ones getting rich lin ng their pockets with money conned from the viewers by promising healing well n exchange for donation.

Benny Hinn is one example.

Here is an American legal take on faith healers

Can Faith Healers Face Criminal Charges?

I can't speak for other countries, but taking away the tax exemptions would be a good start for the USA. I think that any of these megachurches could certainly afford to pay taxes and give a little back to the communities that they fleece.

I don't know about others but at 1330 hrs on Monday October 16th 2017 a Christian Spiritualist gave faith healing to me.
On Wednesday 18th October a lung cancer specialist told me and my wife that the 11 emergency cancer investigation tests carried out on me over the previous 5 weeks had all come back negative....... he sent me for a last Xray and when we got back to his office he told me that my lungs were clear of fluids for the first time in months.

Oh.......... and my knees, which had given me agony for 50 years, never hurt me again to this day.

The Healer was a young woman who wore Goth style makeup and hair etc. She had been clubbing the Sunday night before and she works at the local wedding shop. She heals folks for nothing, and the chapel leaves a dish out for donations.

You never can tell........... it's not the facade but the spirit, I suppose.

I was dragged to a Benny Hinn appearance and he tried to do his stuff on me. What a farce.

I remember being talked into going to a service with one of these faith healers in my home town about 15 years ago. Absolutely ridiculous how many people were lining up to get bopped on the head and flop around on the floor and call it the Holy Spirit. Don't know what kind of spirit it was, but it certainly wasn't "Holy".

I'm glad you read it David. This forum is very helpful with quoting scriptures and not having to write them out. They also use the KJV-excellent!

It is very helpful having that resource. I'm not so big into the KJV though. Nothing against it necessarily but it's a bit archaic on the English.
