To Hebrew experts: did Eve sleep with the Serpent?

So you made all that up about Eve having sex with the serpent? Why didn't you say you made it up to begin with?

sooda, for such a smart cookie, you're just a little slow in figurin' Sister Susan out. By her own testimony, here and elsewhere, purt' near everything she claims is the product of her own mental machinations and handiwork. You're dealing with her "tar-baby".

The trend nowadays in new kinds of "Christianity" seems to be the more outlandish the better.

There's a veritable menagerie of creatures who declare themselves to be knowledgeable about matters pertaining to Jesus of Nazareth. So much so, I can hardly stand calling myself Christian, for fear that I'll be lumped in with all the others. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out what label to go by yet.

I'm still waitin' to encounter my first "Christian atheist" here in RF. I'll give ya' $20 if you see one afore I do.

Ok let me ask you this question instead.
Did this James took that sentence (that is that the serpent defiled Eve) from Hebrew mythology or maybe he invented it?

You will have to point out you are quoting Genesis, not James. Being obtuse is some peoples speciality.

 I have not read the gospel of James. The letter James I have read, and its included in the canon. Its only 5 chapters long and is usually between Hebrews and 1 Peter. It is my favorite book in the canon. I doubt its actually by the same author as that of the gospel of James, but I do not know.

William M. Branham - Wikipedia

Well, I had to look that one up. Interesting summary:

Serpent's seed[edit]
Further information: Serpent Seed and Original Sin
Branham taught an unorthodox doctrine of the source of original sin.[126] He believed the story of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden is allegorical and interpreted it to mean the serpent had sexual intercourse with Eve and that their offspring was Cain.[126] Branham taught that Cain's modern descendants were masquerading as educated people and scientists,[147] and that Cain's descendants were "a big religious bunch of illegitimate ******* children"[148][67] who comprised the majority of society's criminals.[149] He believed the serpent was the missing link between the chimpanzee and man, and speculated that the serpent was possibly a human-like giant.[150] Branham held the belief that the serpent was transformed into a reptile after it was cursed by God.[150] Weaver commented on Branham's interpretation of the story; "Consequently every woman potentially carried the literal seed of the devil".[141]

Branham first spoke about original sin in 1958; he rejected the orthodox view of the subject and hinted at his own belief in a hidden meaning to the story.[151] In later years, he made his opinion concerning the sexual nature of the fall explicitly known.[151] Weaver wrote that Branham may have become acquainted with serpent's seed doctrine through his Baptist roots; Daniel Parker, an American Baptist minister from Kentucky, promulgated a similar doctrine in the mid-1800s.[148] According to Pearry Green, Branham's teaching on the serpent's seed doctrine was viewed by the broader Pentecostal movement as the "filthy doctrine ... that ruined his ministry".[151] No other mainstream Christian group held a similar view; Branham was widely criticized for spreading the doctrine.[151] His followers view the doctrine as one of his greatest revelations.[151]

I guess we'd better watch out for those "educated people and scientists." They all have the serpent's seed. ;)

God sees male and female. He sees Jew and Gentile. He sees the elect and the non-elect. He sees children of God and children of satan. He sees the righteous and the wicked or unrighteous. He sees the various races.

So, now, what is your point?

Only the righteous will enter Heaven. Psalm 35:27. Right now it doesn't matter what religion you are. The wicked/guilty will be cut off by fire on Judgment Day, the day after the Messiah's trial. This will affect 97% of earth's inhabitants. Isaiah 24:6. A "few" is three, but I think it means 3%.

So much wrong with these statements.

First, Jesus is never called the 'second Adam'. He is the 'Last Adam' and the 'Second Man'. Big difference. (1 Cor. 15:45) It is a common mistake among people, even Christians, but it should be corrected.

Jesus is not lucifer. Lucifer is the counterfeit. The wannabe.

Jesus has been kicked out of Heaven and reincarnated. His new name is William Alan Troetschel and he was born on May 16, 1948. This is around the same time as Israel's birthday. I used to call him "Mr. Bill" after the masochist on Saturday Night Live. Jesus wanted to and planned on being crucified because he thought it would fulfill scripture. He died the "deaths of the uncircumcised". Ezekiel 28:10. He will be the leader of the "sons of darkness" and this time he will die by spontaneous combustion, as will all of his followers. Ezekiel 28:18-19, Zechariah 14:12.

Heck, for $20, I'll be a Christian atheist. My kids are in college. Every dollar counts. :D

I don't know why you're saying I made up the story of A&E. It's a parable and I'm just interpreting it. God made it up and gave it to Moses. Eve was orally sodomized by Adam.

Well, I suppose it's conceivable. That is, one can follow the basic teachings of "love thy neighbor" and try not to covet thy neighbor's oxen - without necessarily believing in the supernatural aspects of it.

T-w-e-e-e-t! Foul! The "supernatural" aspects of it are what makes it "Christian".

Yes, I agree. Only the righteous will enter Heaven. And the righteous are those who have been covered in the Righteousness of Christ.

Thanks for the link.
Ahhh, ... what's this?

"Eve and the Serpent
In the midrashic expansion, the serpent, “who was the shrewdest of all the wild beasts” (Gen. 3:1), cast his eyes on what was not fit for him. The serpent saw Adam and Eve naked, engaging in intercourse in plain sight, and he lusted after Eve. He wanted to kill Adam and then marry Eve. When he was punished, God told him: I intended that you would reign over all cattle and beasts, but now “more cursed shall you be than all cattle and all the wild beasts” (Gen. 3:14); you desired to kill Adam and marry Eve, now “I will put enmity between you and the woman” (Gen. 3:15). What the serpent wanted was not given him, and what he had was taken from him (T Sotah [ed. Lieberman] 4:17–18; Gen. Rabbah 18:6). According to another tradition, the serpent did indeed engage in intercourse with Eve, who became pregnant and gave birth to Cain (see below, “Now the Man Knew His Wife Eve”)."

So where is the "other tradition" written?
