I have had beard since i was 20, and have never been told " shave for goodness sake"

I guess I'm the worst of both worlds: I have a full beard, but I shave the parts my beard doesn't cover (i.e. my neck and cheeks).Nope! No shaving!

I'd post something, but this is starting to look like "a dog-pile on Jonathan" thread and I'm afraid a Moderator is going to jump in and give everybody a warning.

Is hair on the top of your head uncomfortable? What about under your arms? How about down at the other end? How about on your arms and legs? Is that uncomfortable?
Why? Do you shave your entire body? How about your eyebrows? Do you shave those unsanitary little hair snakes off your face? I'm sure that would make a fashion statement to the world. You could go about like that with a T-Shirt that says, "Just say no to body hair". You'll look lovely.

I used to make a joke about fishnet ball bags.
Then after about 15 years I saw them advertised. Men’s erotic underwear.
But I still haven’t seen them designed into jeans.
Surely the girls would like the occasional glimpse of side-ball, or under-ball ?
But shaved or unshaven ?
Modern life is cursed with these dilemmas.
They'll probably invent it themselves at some point anyway.

Yup. They're popular with hipsters and young men in general. I have a beard because it suits my face better and I look better with one. The shaved head and beard look is very masculine.There is here

I pity you. It feels so good to stimulate the follicles by running your fingers through it, pulling on it lightly and scratching the skin. It's divine. I also use shampoo, oil and brush and comb it everyday. So I'm definitely not dirty!I have a bit more head hair in my daydreams, but a mega beard

Yes, being clean shaven was a trend from the '30s to '50s. It was like an aberration. Then the '60s came and guys grew out their beards and the hair on their heads in rejection of the uptight decades that came before. Since then, it has been socially acceptable to have a beard and longer hair again. The shaving trend was probably started by razor companies advertising. The 1700s had a period of beardlessness owing to the powdered wig trend. Apparently the two clashed.
