What's Up With Biden

Just going to leave this here for you.

Except that he has said things like this before whereas he wasn't joking. Nor do I get the impression he was joking this time. Remember how many times he would say "I'm the only one that can..."?

That's the thing. The stuff he says is so off the wall and arrogant that it's hard to tell when he's joking.

Do you hold Biden to the same standard you hold Trump?
On this point, yes. That's one of the reasons I don't want him as the Democratic Presidential candidate. I'm 74 and many of my friends are in their 70's and 80's. Even the best of us lose something when we get into that age.

Stamina is one thing that goes down. Also, people can be mentally sharp at that age, but in some respects we are not what we used to be. Fluid intelligence has been shown to decrease with age. Age-related decline in cognitive control: the role of fluid intelligence and processing speed

I mean the lying part not his age. Biden is defending his "stories" as true at the "core"

Who do you want then? Biden is a year behind Sanders. That is why I suggest a Biden/Gabbard ticket. In a few years, he'll die, and hopefully she will have been mentored enough to make a good President? Right now she is a bit naive about funding the Military.

Trump does that all time and even worse insists he has not said something that he said and that has been captured on video. He lies all the time - thousands and thousands of lies.

If you were using an even standard, Trump would rank 1,000,000 times worse. Or do you ignore Trump's mouth sewage because "he's one of us"

Biden can't even complete a sentence. These are not gaffes. We are literally watching him deteriorate before our very eyes. It's really pathetic how anyone could think he could beat Trump.

I think most politicians lie as easily as you and I breath. Tulsi and Sanders are the only two of the top of my head I think are genuine. Tulsi dropped out of the race. Sanders is the typical old American socialist that was conned by USSR propaganda so must rebrand himself to avoid embarrassment. I think he is incompetent as well given his life's history.

I've met very few people who don't lie. Most people, and I include myself, lie from time-to-time. So my criteria becomes not the ideal of no lying but more realistic and that is how often and how badly. And most specifically the motive behind the lying.

So if a politician makes an impossible promise to win votes, as they all do, I disregard it. But when someone uses lies to stir up fear and anger as Trump does, it's meaningful to me. And when someone says they did not say what we know they said as Trump does, it's a strong danger signal.

And you bring up an important point about competence. Trump is massively incompetent as we can see in many many different areas including his daily temper tantrums when something does not go 100% his way. He's even managing to upset business by eliminating environmental rules they're in favor of. Sanders would to me not be a very effective President but all the Democrats are seriously better than Trump.

But would you vote for Biden over Trump? Unless something changes he may well be the Democratic candidate.

Tulsi did not drop out. She left the campaign trail for 2 weeks because she deployed to Indonesia.

I'd vote for a ticket that included Tulsi Gabbard. My only caveat is that she needs to be mentored by one of the folk that can win it. Biden, or Sanders are the only Democrats I'd vote for as the leader.

It won't bother those who were OK with Hillary's "sniper fire" claim.
Anyway, I don't think such memory issues (assuming honesty) are significant when voting.
Why would anyone be OK with that claim? If a person lies, they lied.

Trump criticizing Clinton for that lie is funny, given his daily lies. "I'm still the King of Lies crooked Hillary! You'll never be better than me!"

And if it's only having memory issues,
then they have distorted memories.

This is about Biden.
Try not to distract by making it about Trump.

I would have to assume that anyone that wanted to be Commander in Chief would know that a Captain in the Navy is an O-6, which is equivalent of a Colonel in the Marines, Army, and Air Force..
Then again maybe not.
