Question for all jehovah's witnesses on here about the bible and the human spirit

If you could go out of body and meet God while you were sleeping(and not be trying to induce it).How would it change your religion? My religion is methodist. But I go back and forth on what methodism says about the human spirit. And what the jehovah's witness religion says about the human spirit. The reason I asked this question is because my dad asked me it.And I wanted to ask all of you and see what you think about my dad's question.

In the Bible, God gave certain men visions and dreams. This did not happen to just anyone, but to those whom God chose to record their experiences in his word. Those visions and dreams had meaning, not just for those to whom God gave them, but for all those who would read about their experiences in later times and the meaning that God would reveal in his own good time. Daniel, for example was privileged with prophesy that he was told would not be revealed until "the time of the end". (Daniel 12:4)

When we talk about the human spirit, we have to understand what that means within the context of the whole Bible. Many people confuse "spirit" and "soul" as if they mean the same thing. They do not. In the Bible, a "soul" is a living, breathing creature, whereas "spirit" is what animates them, both man and animals. (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20)

Adam was brought to life by God's spirit when He was given "breath"...with that breath (spirit) of life, the man "became" a "soul"....he was not "given" a soul. There is no invisible part of humans that survives death, according to what the ancient Jews believed.
"Spirit" has several meanings in the Bible, so unless you understand the way the word is used in its context, you can become confused or misled.

The spirit in man can also be likened to the spirit in an animal. If an animal is "spirited" it is a description of their character or personality. We use the word in various contexts ourselves. Being "mean-spirited" has nothing to do with anything but an aspect of human personality, displayed in their actions.

The reason I asked this question is because my dad asked me it.And i wanted to ask all of you and see what you think about my dad's question.

'Out of body experiences' in this day and age when scripture is not being written, I believe is more to do with mental instability than it has to do with God. Lucid dreaming is often mistaken for a spiritual experience when it is just an aberration of the mind...an altered mental state.....dreaming whilst awake. Like a hypnotic state, it is not fully understood even by the experts.

Hope that helps....
