Nicene Creed

Oh its very Roman alright, Legate being directly from Roman Times, so is the College of Cardinals, so is an Emperor taking over that Senate. The Countries he still has today remain so Because of the Romance languages, holding onto the Roman name for God, is Deus. That's Spain, France, and Italy with Romance Language and a God named Deus.

So you wish to make up the Orthodox Split rebelliously from the Catholic, is that what you're going to claim? Very slippery. I'm sure Greek Speakers, in a Greek alphabet, got very little coverage in Everything they said! You don't even know any Orthodox countries! The word that means original, traditional, etc. The Pope was one of those five Bishops in This Nicene Creed this thread is about. Your little Pope man was there, he had to answer to the title Patriarch, a Patriarch of Rome, in a Pentarchy there's five Patriarchs, aong with Bishops from countries, whos most important product was democratic Creeds.

Plus the language that Jesus and the apostles spoke was not Greek but Aramaic.

Wasn't sure what the poster referred to. At some point the Greek translation of the NT, containing the Greek translation of Hebrew Scripture, the Septuagint, was translated, by Jerome, to the common language, Latin, the Vulgate (common).

So the indisputably Greek populations of all Anatolia, and Greece, and Crimea, spoke Latin? No not really. If I put these 4 posts together that's pcarl's claim that doesn't come together. The New Testament is in Original Greek. The Old Testament is in original Aramaic. The Byzantine Empire went back to official Greek. The 1000 AD Byzantine Empire did not even include an Empire, the Armenians left, the Georgians left, Bulgaria, Serbia, Crimea, these are the indisputable Greek populations we should recognize the travesty that the Islamic Jihaad of the Turk tribesmen and goatherders into the GrecoRoman heartland obviously.

Oh its very Roman alright, Legate being directly from Roman Times, so is the College of Cardinals, so is an Emperor taking over that Senate.
The original bishops were appointees from the apostles, and the apostles were of course headed by Jesus, so the structure of the Church is based on Jesus and the apostles, not the Roman civic structure. The only real power of the Cardinals is to select a new pope, thus they are clearly not like the Roman "Senate".

The Countries he still has today remain so Because of the Romance languages, holding onto the Roman name for God, is Deus. That's Spain, France, and Italy with Romance Language and a God named Deus.
What difference does that make? The name "God" comes from the German language, so why are you using that if it's really that important? Also, there are roughly around 15 names for God used in the Hebrew scriptures.

So you wish to make up the Orthodox Split rebelliously from the Catholic, is that what you're going to claim?
Maybe actually look things up: East–West Schism - Wikipedia

You don't even know any Orthodox countries!
Well, guess again. And I have been in Orthodox churches, btw, so your utter dishonesty is not only appalling but basically anti-Christian.

The word that means original, traditional, etc.
No, it doesn't: "Orthodoxy (from Greek ὀρθοδοξία orthodoxía "right opinion") is adherence to correct or accepted creeds, especially in religion." IOW, "truth", as i previously posted

Your use of statements like "Your little pope man" is just so thoroughly disgusting, and all I see from you is a hate-filled bigotry that is miles away from the "love one another as I have loved you" words of Jesus. Your posts reflect a hate-filled person whose laziness keeps you from looking things up that are so easily acceptable.

Your posts are a prime example of the kind of bigotry I left in my mid-20's when I left my fundamentalist Protestant church that was doing much the same as you're now doing. The Church I now belong to teaches the love of Jesus and having compassion towards others, so if your church isn't doing that, which may explain your hate-filled posts, then let me suggest you look for a new one.

Anyhow, with this, our "discussion" comes to an end. What you are doing here violates the ROC here at RF, namely attacking another religion or denomination, so please stop this. You also might consider reading this historical account of "Christianity", and it is obviously not from a Catholic source: Christianity - Wikipedia

Well I am an intellectual not a hater, then I apologize, and you're not an identified Catholic by the way , or influenced to play the advocate that I'm aware of, athough that portait's not Thomas Cranmer is it, its the other one the Catholic one. Forgot. Sorry.

Of course I've been to the East-West schism, which basically proclaims this very lightly. Of course the Church will not have agreed with me, then I apologize for harsh words visiting a faithful's ear, its as simple as the Apostle Peter had the Keys to Heaven which were keys passed down to every Pope ever.

Basically you can tell from that Wiki or common knowledge, the Pope Declared Germany the Holy Roman Empire, this is a Reasonable start on the Church Split. To call them Holy Roman Empire By the Pope disacknowledged the Eastern Byzantine Holy Roman Empire. This is 800 AD and is very pronounced and official and noticed in circles. Rome does not answer to a Council of Equals in Constantinople.

Exactly, and that was largely done because Greek was so widely written and spoken in so much of the entire Mediterranean region.

Even though Greek power was replaced by the Romans, its legacy was, and still is, long lived. Even today we often speak of Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, etc. as if they were here just a short while ago.

And I personally believe that anyone who is serious about studying the early Church should know of the effect that especially Aristotle had on the formulation of many concepts, such as how "essence" is so frequently used in our scriptures.

BTW, I am not a Greek scholar, so I have to rely on various sources for help periodically.

Thanks on that post metis because I wanted to inject that Presbyterianism looks at Greek scholars fled the last Turkish and Ottoman invasions in 1460 Constantinople was taken and this did infuse classical inquisitiveness and knowledge like Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, people were encouraged to Thoughtful knowledge of song and in every station and in all places. This is how specific the term Presbyterianism is, that the original Greek Presbyter should be taken to mean an Elder. Other Greek common practices like Synods, Ekuminikos or ecumenical between churches, in fact how does an Ecumenical Catholic work when its the only Church? I've watched Catholic ecumenical activity involves inviting Anglicans back to being Catholics especially their neo-catholic Anglican Monastary practices.

IMO, religious bigotry more demeans the person saying it than the church they're attacking, and Paul warned us about not causing division within what he called the "one body".

Sometimes it takes all the charity one can muster to forgive our unlearned brothers and sisters. Sometimes these same people know little of their own religion.
One of the most rewarding religious books to read is a collaborate of authors of various religions who find grounds for agreement. With all the differences within the Pauline church, never did they break koinonia.

Catholics pray to 5 saints to be exact before jesus Christ, or anybody in the bible. Catholics have a religion that adds On Top of the bible by far, built a whole religion on Mary who has a couple nondefinite passages. It developed Latin as a holy language of Roman Catholicism. It does not ask any participation traditionally, singing, ceremony, from any members, while a Priest looks away in a High Mass to eucharist, or ceremony. Your viewpoint is probably allowed through some Gutenberg bible protestant reformation group like the Reformed , or other Protestants, when the swords start clanging its just an identity anyway. Men have worked 1000s of years to Develop the very complicated task of Understanding the bible. I mean first off its in Greek? You want to only read Greek or did somebody help you Understand the Bible? Can they write other highlights like the Westminster Confession?

You're totally wrong and totally mistaken on a point here. Why are the Tax Collectors cast out by Jesus Christ?!

These are your words
What I am asking are your alleged 5 saints whom Catholics prayed, before Jesus Christ, or anybody in the Bible.
How can I be mistaken, when I just quoted what you said?

Next, Jesus Christ did not cast out tax collectors.
Where did you read that?
What verse?
What he cat out are evil spirits

Matthew 8:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons; and He cast out the evil spirits with a word, and restored to health all who were sick [exhibiting His authority as Messiah],

Here's another clue for you; the pope is a BISHOP.
And without the work of the presbyter-bishop, without the permanent institutional element the work of the apostle would soon have vanished. Already at the very beginning of the 2nd cent in some communities one bishop had emerged as the head of the college of presbyters. According to the Didache the wandering prophets are not forbidden to hold Eucharist there is an instruction in connection with other instructions on celebrating the Eucharist, 'to appoint bishops and deacons who will render for the community the ministry (leitourgis) of the prophets.'
1Clement, in the year 96 refers to ejecting from office "men who have offered the sacrificial gifts of the episcopate worthily'. Just prior to or right after the turn of the century the role of the presbyter-bishop and the role of the celebrant of the Eucharist are joined.

Sure the pope is the bishop of Rome
and it is usually a bishop who gets elected as pope

Etymology
The word pope is derived ultimately from the Greek πάππας[1] (páppas[2]) originally an affectionate term meaning "father",
Pope (word) - Wikipedia

Now this is what Jesus Christ said about using the title "father"

Matthew 23:9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Do not call anyone on earth [who guides you spiritually] your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

to make it convincing, let us use a Catholic version of the Bible

upload_2019-8-21_6-57-56.jpeg

Matthew 23:9 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.a]">[a]

Footnotes:
  1. 23.9 i.e., “Do not use the title without reference to God’s universal fatherhood.” He cannot mean that the title is never to be used by a son to his father.

The Pope slaughtered the entire Huguenot movement on the Saint Bartholomew day Massacre and then printed coins from Rome in a jubilatory victory, it displayed massacred bodies of this very same Reformed Christian Church. I hope we aren't throwing the Historical blame around at myself alone!

Treat them as you would treat an ungodly person or a tax collector. NIV If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Matthew 18:17 - Bible Gateway
I explained tax collectors were specifically Roman tributary collectors. He was called King of Israel in opposition to Roman authority, this is all so Central to New Testament.

I literally lost my website of the most popular persons and for prayers in Italy. Sorry. Well look at here's one for popular Catholic prayers, Jesus gets some mentions. Jesus Christ is 7th importance. Look at him on the Vatican, oh look he gets central spot in the paganism.

Creed, no creed, whatever.

This trash?

POS_15_Nicene_Creed_12x16__98798.1460380403.jpg

The last portion of the creed is about the catholic and apostolic church.
and in discussing so we could not avoid but checking the head.

The earliest extant record of the word papa being used in reference to a Bishop of Rome dates to late 3rd century, when it was applied to Pope Marcellinus.
Pope (word) - Wikipedia
So no one was called papa before and most of the 3rd century.

The Bible teaches never to call anyone father [papa] Matthew 23:9

AMP
Do not call anyone on earth [who guides you spiritually] your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
AMPC
And do not call anyone [in the church] on earth father, for you have one Father, Who is in heaven.

How then could this church forgive sins when it is not of God?

Well no one's here For Catholic Bashing. Wait except all the Reformed Calvinists oh ya. John Calvin said there was no good Pope since 400 AD. All the Doctrines then are backed up to the Nicene Creed. One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church may depend on Chalcedonian Christianity, the common name of the era, the era before Catholic and Orthodox.

Maybe read whereas Jesus said to his apostles about the binding and loosening of sins, and this power was passed on to those appointees who replaced them.

BTW, it's God that forgives sins as the priest is only a conduit. .

My only problem with Catholicism is its not comfortable enough for me. What if they plush the pews, communion cream puffs?
