You still don't understand who gets Federal Farm Subsidies. You're Canadian, aren't you?

Yes I am Canadian.

A lot of farmers use subsidies. Pointing out the rich use them too is not an argument it only points out the idea is corrupt to the core.

Centralized government farming failed in the USSR leading to famine. It was abolished in Poland when attempted by the Communists as harvest yields dropped compared to private farming.
As much as we waste we could far easier integrate features that cut waste, add emphasis to local farming, and work towards ensuring farmers are adequately compensated for their value and work. They work way harder than most other people, we don't have much of anything without them.

Such as what?

add emphasis to local farming,

Which has had problems since the 30s

work towards ensuring farmers are adequately compensated for their value and work.

Based on what? Market value or some value you grab from the ether?

They work way harder than most other people, we don't have much of anything without them.

Sure. That does not mean they get whatever amount of money they want. Some crops are not worth much in the 1st world due to 3rd world imports. That is why my family only planted wheat for fodder and feed purposes not to sell on the market. We planted high value cash crops and sold beef instead to cover expenses and to make a profit.

Better transportation, efforts into reducing food-service waste, and efforts made into getting people to eat better. We'd be ok if we were all encouraged to eat less fast food and half the McDonald's closed down. We're gonna need to figure out what to do with those unemployed anyways before robots replace most of them.
That does not mean they get whatever amount of money they want.
No, but they deserve more than they get. It's a job that has got to look economically appealing so people keep doing it, and "market value" isn't really doing it.
Which has had problems since the 30s
This isn't the 1930s anymore. We've done much to mitigate some of the issues then, have made improvements in many areas, but we waste a ton of food and the world is one of finite resources. We are able to rely on local farming as we always have. Not entirely or exclusively, as that would be problematic, but we need to grow more for food and less for junk.

Better transportation

Which has a cost. Who pays for it that?

efforts into reducing food-service waste

So rationing?

and efforts made into getting people to eat better.

This has been attempted for years. The left gave up with it's stance on fat shaming, healthy at any weight. blah blah, babble.

We'd be ok if we were all encouraged to eat less fast food and half the McDonald's closed down.

Attempted for decades and failed.

We're gonna need to figure out what to do with those unemployed anyways before robots replace most of them.

Stop subsidizing failure.

No, but they deserve more than they get. It's a job that has got to look economically appealing so people keep doing it, and "market value" isn't really doing it.

Deserve based on what?

So now we must dress up farming so it is more appealing via money the market dictates is not deserved?

This isn't the 1930s anymore.

The point is 1st world farming has had issues since the 30s due to global competition. It has only gotten worse.

Do note you do not suggest tariffs or cutting imports. You just throw money that isn't your own at a problem. It is easy to spend other people's money.

We've done much to mitigate some of the issues then, have made improvements in many areas, but we waste a ton of food and the world is one of finite resources.

That is due to life-style and life-style choices.

We are able to rely on local farming as we always have. Not entirely or exclusively, as that would be problematic, but we need to grow more for food and less for junk.

Define junk.
