Will claims of Russia Trump collusion be an embarrassment to Democrats

Which Democrats will step up to distance themselves first Regarding the long claims of collision between Putin and Trump? immunity afforded to government agents

Graham: IG's report on Russia probe will be 'ugly and damning' for DOJ

At the start why does an unsubstantiatedy rumor begun by a professor kicks off the Democrat claims of Russian collision get immunity? Shouldn't he have to explain himself. The claim had public repercussions so shouldn't the explanation by public?

quote
Cambridge professor and reported FBI informant Stefan Halper, who is being sued by a Russian-born academic for allegedly smearing her and former national security adviser Michael Flynn as part of a government conspiracy to bring down the Trump administration, declared in a recent court filing that he is entitled to legal immunity ordinarily afforded to federal agents – even if the lawsuit's allegations are true.

Suspected FBI informant linked to Russia 'smears' claims

The professor is being sued and there is no immunity from lawsuit in such as case I am aware of.

It is really beginning to unravel now, and by the time all the yarn is separated it appears as though the corruption of the FBI who colluded with the democrat party, to undo an election, will be astounding.

There will be no embarrassment.
The claim will be maintained, just with
less vigor than if evidence had been found.

I wonder how the NYTimes will play it
They were up to their eyeballs in stoking the claim

That was then...

"The Kremlin, it appeared, had reached onto United States soil in New York and Washington. The banners may well have been intended as visual victory laps for the most effective foreign interference in an American election in history."

The Plot to Subvert an Election: Unraveling the Russia Story So Far

alas fast forward...

"The Russia hoax is crumbling and people can’t run away fast enough. We’ve seen signs from the very beginning that many of the people who promoted the Trump-Russia collusion smear have always known it was a hoax. These signs have been in plain sight. Here is an incomplete list."

The great thing about an unproven conspiracy theory
is that being unproven is no barrier to trumpeting it.

Don't feed the troll.

Oh c'mon you don't have to call the NY Times a trollish...

The quality of journalism seemed to glaze over the whole thing started as something
of hearsay but no need for name calling..

It may be feeding the left wing echo chamber but trollish?

From numerous mainstream media outlets, late night comedians, morning talk shows etc was the collusion delusion repeated over and over. Sometimes concerned, sometimes a joke, but always the intimation or outright claim that this was very real.

Since the 2 big parties don't agree on most things its hard to find something that would embarrass. It would have to be something both agreed was not good and also admitted had occurred.
