Hey everyone,
I went with my parents to the vet yesterday, regrettably to put down my cat Foss. We had two cats, Foss (black and white, male) and Jess (Black, Female). We've had them for about ten years. (Jess is fine and utterly un-phased by the whole thing. She's sitting on my lap as I type).
Three years ago, Foss has a serious illness when his kidneys failed and we thought we lost him then. Fortunately, he survived (with my mum taking the brunt of having to give him his medication each evening). After the recent hot weather in the UK, Foss started to lose weight very rapidly. We took really good care of him over the past week thinking he was going to go each night, but each morning he was still there, hanging in there. Eventually, we decided we weren't going to let it go on any longer. and went to the vet. We buried him down the garden this morning. I am going to miss cuddling him, but life goes on.
Anyway, I am coping pretty well under the circumstances but thought I'd share the news and some photos with the forum. (The last picture, with Foss in the snow, was from the Winter of 2010.) Rest in Peace.
