Actually water isn't the most common element in the universe.
It's Hydrogen followed by helium:
Element Parts Per Million
1
Hydrogen (H) 750,000
2
Helium (He) 240,000
3
Oxygen (O) 10,000
4
Carbon (C) 5,000
5
Neon (Ne) 1,300

But I get what you are saying. Think of God as water and drink of it.
Fill yourself with His spirit.

Is God water? is water God?

Before I get in to this, I am not saying this is what I believe! This is something I've been thinking about for awhile. Im just looking for your and opinions. That and to provoke some thought.

Water is the most abundant molecule in the universe and it is also the most abundant solid substance in space. Water molecules are everywhere. Water is the life-giver in our physical world. By definition God is the Life-giver. Water is the only substance that can exists naturally in three forms, gas, solid and liquid, God is described as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

So think of the Father as being equivalent to water vapor. It is everywhere but remains unseen. God is also everywhere and remains unseen. Jesus, the son would be compared to ice. Which would be the solid form of water. Jesus, whom spent time on earth and was seen by many. He was referred to as the Rock, something solid. Water is the only substance to expand when it gets colder which in turn makes it float, Rise up. If ice did not float, life would not be possible. At least as life appears today. So the Bible says that Jesus rose from his tomb so we could have eternal life, spiritual life! Ice also preserves or saves things. In Jesus Christ, we are saved from our sin.

Now, The Holy Spirit would be equivalent to water. It is said to live in all living creatures. The Holy Spirit is sent from God to do His work on earth. Water is sent from the clouds to rain down on the earth. To cleanse and to nourish. The Holy Spirit is used to baptize and wash our souls while water is used to wash our bodies. To cleanse or to make new.

Water that has been evaporated, rises. Water on earth is full of dirt and debris. As it rises it is freed of the things that bog it down or that makes it un pure. As it is said we also would be freed from our earthly restraints, dirt. As we rise into the heavens to be with God.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Here it almost sounds like there was only water to begin with. Here at least it doesn't say God created water. So is water God?

There many who believe that water has memory. Masaru Emoto was a Japanese author and entrepreneur, who claimed that human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water. Emoto's work explored his theory that water could react positively or negatively to thoughts and words. Polluted water could be cleaned through prayer and positive visualization. This can be looked up on youtube, Very Interesting on its own. Is this how our thoughts and prayers are transported to God? By water up to the sky to the clouds. Is this why we should pray over our food and drink?

Think about the last time you really looked at a glass of water. Now each water molecule is said to have 440,000 panels to store information on. How does it collect this information? I don't know, but it sounds like water can see. It reflects light, images, in much the same way as our eyes. Now think about then journey of a drop of water. Where all it's been. What all it has seen and heard. From Falling from the sky, to rising back up again and everything in between. The possibilities are staggering. What about the journey of your last dink of water. Was it down a mountain that ran into a river. Listing to bird sing and watch the sky go by. Like you did as a kid in the back seat of a car. Or did it travel from a treatment plant where it was then sent through miles and mile of underground pipes to your house.

So what if the oceans and the seas are big memory bank. Where all the information of the world is stored and processed. Where every thought, image, and the blue print to everything ever in existence is keep. Water can be seen as the oldest chemist ever. Mixing and matching different combinations together. Creating, rearranging, adding, subtracting, everything with everything forever. staggering once again.

God said we were made in his image. When you look into a pond you see your reflection, your image. Everywhere I looked these numbers up they were different. As babies we are around 80 to 90 percent water. This is higher than in an adults, which has 57 to 60 percent water. As we get order and more corrupt and beat down by the world. Is this the reason why we lose such a large amount of water in our bodies. If we believe and trust in God. Do we retain more water as we get older? It is also said that God is in every living thing. Is this by water? Humans have always wondered where our souls are located. What if our souls are made of water. When we die our bodies dry up and turn to dust. The water evaporates and everything else stays on the earth.
I posted most of this on a web page awhile back. I had on person say "God can't be contained and that water could." Well you could burry a container of water miles underground, it might take a long time but the water will evaporate. This same person said "water doesn't show emotion." A flood that takes out a whole town appears to be full of emotion. How about a big storm passing over your house? Set down by a steam and just list to how calming it is. Better yet! After a long day. Fill your bathtub up with water. Tell me it's not one of the most soothing things in the world. How about a spring rain? Gently cleaning and nourishing everything in sight. Sounds very caring to me.
There is more that can be said about this, but for now I'm going to leave it at that. Like I said I am just look for opinions no matter what they are. I'm not trying to get anyone to believe in this theory. Water is mentioned in the Bible 722 times. If nothing else it seems to have some importance. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.

WOW WOW WOW...This post is on the right path to open doors. PLEASE READ MY REPLY!

First off I think the person who started this post is really smart and doing some positive thinking and I agree 1000%.

Is water god and is god water? Yes because it does not judge is my answer and my thoughts on this. Why some might ask? I will explain below.

There are some true believers when it comes to religion such as Biblical fans, Quran fans and Buddhism followers so my reply is not meant to disrespect any of them but only what I see from my own two eyes ok so don’t go getting butt hurt over this......because some of you already went as far as inserting some paragraphs of the old bible and Qurans dusty books.

Now is there a God? Is there Allah? Is there the old great bald monks? Yes there is because you all believe them to be from the books you read under that church and temples. But ask yourself when was the last time you met GOD or Allah or Buddha in physical person? I mean physically hug or kiss any of them with your own lips???? Never.

GOD or ALLAH DID NOT WRITE US A DIRECTION ON HOW TO LIVE ON A BOOK. the directions on where we came from and how to survive is written in our genes and our DNA. If you don’t believe me then how come all the animals don’t have a bible or a Quran? Our DNA requires water in order to be activated and bring life to the form it was stored for each existence.

Here’s my religion: “Space -Time-Water” that’s what my religion is because it’s fact and true and exist. But it’s not a religion it’s really “US”

Soooo there is NO GOD, NO ALLAH, NO BUDDAH it’s all fabricated and man made people....there I said it. Books are records of events and only people can write in it not llamas or donkeys. If there is a GOD then why so many? Why so many religion? Why does every religion have a different GOD?

Here’s the truth believe it or not....I agree with the “is water GOD or is GOD water thread because we need to look into water for where we came from, where we are heading most if not all our answers are in water along with fire. Water and fire are true and exist and those are necessary for life period. It is true that every living germs or life needs water and is part water.

What is the most strongest substance we know????? Any one?

Not diamond, not metal, not GOD or Allahhhhhh ok because you can all read those stupid books a thousand times and it won’t change you or me or the word physically but only mess up you mentally.

Water is the most strongest forms I know if you really put it to the test. We cannot destroy water even if we try....prove me wrong. Even space cannot rid of water, fire cannot destroy water, the sun cannot destroy water it’ll simply vapor and move on, water can destroy fire.

People are stupid when it comes to beliefs, what humans needs to do is focus more on water instead of spending money building churches and temples congregating praying wasting valuable time on nonsense for hundreds of years with nothing to benefit except preaching and talking and proving which religion is better. It’s dumb so wake up.

Instead we all need to spend money and focus our energy and time on water, we are dying because of water, the planets are changing because of water. Look around I saw this 10 years ago but no one listen. If we can get all the land to have streams of water it will heal the planet back to the time before pollutions. Clean all debri from lakes, remove all oil spills, purify all contaminate water and we all will see results.

Renewable energy such as solar panel won’t solve the climate change and green house. Scientists are looking in the wrong places, the glacier ice is melting because the water vapors in the air is contaminated from the water on the ground as it vapors up to the clouds. Then the clouds drops all the dirty water back down to the icebergs causing the ice to be unstable. Focus on water and the beautiful national parks will thrive again. Focus on cleaning all water and the greenhouse will drop, look into water for our problems and solutions.

All the information about our past and mistakes are in water. Remove water from our planet and it will die, remove water from the universe and it’s the end.

Jeremiah describes God as " the fountain of living waters" (Jeremiah2:13, 17:13). But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of waterspringing up into everlasting life.

This may be one of the poorest, least informed, and poorly written arguments against religion I’ve ever encountered. While there are a couple of bright spots in your thinking and world view, your appalling lack of theological and cultural understanding occlude any momentum they might provide. Concentrate on your ecological arguments and refrain from playing theologian, and you’ll do a better job arguing your case.

From a biblical standpoint, water represents life. It also represents chaos. Of course water is important — especially to a desert people. I believe water is the lifeblood of God.

In creation, God separated water. In fact, separation is the operational mode for creation. God separated light from darkness, for example. The creation is part of the Creator, because it was separated out from the Creator.

For the last couple of years or so I've really got this strong inclination that the idea of God came from water. I'm not saying that because water keeps us alive, but as to say that water itself is a sentient being. A single being that exists everywhere in and out of us all. I think human sentience is a 2 part deal. Our physical form which should be on par with every other animal our size, and the influence that water has on our minds as a living being itself. I think we evolved as we have because of water's influence and interests. As a driving force to spread beyond it's form. It put together all life to spread across the land and beyond to space and whatever else is out there. Intelligent design in a literal sense. I think the influence goes a step further though. As in we cannot interact with it but it tries to interact with us through our minds. The idea of Chi, and any idea of an energy stream, all of it can be superimposed with the power water has over everything. How it flows through our bodies, makes up basically all of us and brings this rock to life. I'd even go a step further and say that when we introspect on our lives, the voice we are conversing with in our minds is in some way influenced, or quite literally is the voice of a being that has led us to this point. Every religion out there puts a strong emphasis on water being holy. Christian, Muslim, Jew, Babylonian, Egyptian. Baptism, the significance of initiating new life into a religion through water. Tiamat created all life on earth with her body, and she was the goddess of the sea. The flood story that predates the bible by a long shot tells that God's wrath came in the form of waters covering all land and drowning all life. When the Babylonian gods wanted to wipe mankind out they were going to flood the earth. I know this is all just pointless ranting, and nothing can be proven. And yet this idea hit me hard a couple years ago and has never let go. When that Japanese study was released with water reacting to different emotions, changing it's molecular structure based on whether it was hearing/seeing something positive versus something negative. Prayers and happiness created intricate structures that were beautiful to the human eyes. Anything volatile created a mess of chaotic spikes. That really made me wonder the validity especially with, like I said all the religious backing of the idea. Just something interesting to ponder on I guess.

This song most likely covers something far more simplistic than how I interpreted it, but the imagery given the context is powerful nonetheless:

Wow, for some reason, the thought just came to me recently. I don’t remember why; but I remember thinking that God was water and I wanted to look more into it. And so I googled “Is God water?” And your article came up! I love that! It definitely has me wanting to do more research about water.

JSUN, I too have been curious about the connection between Water & God and appreciate you sharing your thoughts back in 2015. I just did a search for "Is God water" and your post was the top result (Jan 20, 2022). You inspired me to reflect and write back to you:

I believe that God is Love and that water (as illustrated in scripture) is a type (so both a metaphor AND a literal thing at the same time). One example is the beginning of Psalm 63:

You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.

My interpretation is that David is in a literal dry dessert and is thirsty for literal liquid water AND he is also living in the fallen earth that, like a literal desert, is dry / devoid of God's Love.

John 4:14

but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

The water Jesus speaks of is His love; it is the love that God has for each of us. His love is so vast and immeasurable and so ever present and so deep and so necessary for life as we know it and even more importantly, for everlasting life ~ that it is "like" water in so much as our minds can grasp an understanding of water. Our minds can grasp that water is necessary for life, where there is water, there is life, where there is no water, it is like a lifeless desert in which we can exist for a short while, but without life giving water, we will wither and perish. Without the life giving love of Christ, our souls will wither and perish in a lifeless desert.

The water theme is quite revealing; go back to Genesis 26 and the wells of Abraham that Issac re-digs. It seems to me that the wells (which were filled in by idolating philistines) is likely a literal hole in the ground that is dug with labor and a shovel and it gives water to humans and animals; AND, the well is also the establishment of being in communion with God, through the Word of God and through worship. So I see it as we each have to do the work it takes to dig and maintain the well to get the life giving water - yet, today we live in a world where I can open a faucet and get potable water with no effort. In early times, before printing presses, only churches had a bible - one bible - now I can go on the internet and get 1,000 bibles and bible quotes with little to no effort. So we live in a world where scripture is literally at EVERYONE's finger tips, yet very very few actually drink of the water that gives everlasting life. At the same time, our shift towards excessive materialism (idolizing material things) is polluting the life giving water ways even to the extent that we have plastic floating islands the size of Texas forming in the sea. Streams I drank out of as a child, I now need to filter the water or risk getting the giardia parasite....what kind of metaphor is that??? To me, we face new challenges in our faith that are similar and different (more modern) than those in past years AND we have more available to us....as an example, I can talk with you and yet I have never met you!!!

Thank you for your post and God Bless.

I also got here by googling "Is water God"..
Because of a dream I had.
This has been extremely interesting to read. Dr Emoto Water experiments have intrigued me for years. Like they would one day come to have a much deeper meaning.

This thread sent me to my bookshelf, to look up this;

Water, by Philip Larkin

If I were called in
To construct a religion
I should make use of water.

Going to church
Would entail a fording
To dry, different clothes;

My liturgy would employ
Images of sousing,
A furious devout drench,

And I should raise in the east
A glass of water
Where any-angled light
Would congregate endlessly.
