[Virtue] Talking about right speech and purification

See, such small enjoyment, looking like honey, one day, if not right now, will lead to unpleasant. Why? Because the joy gained is based on lose of another, at least the try

What I saw in Shadow Wolf’s remark was good natured humor.
Good natured humor does not depend on the other person losing. Humor is about sharing the stresses, contradictions and ethical dilemmas we face. It is not just fatuous time wasting. Humor helps us identify and have patience with suffering.

Yet it is surely good if one, from time to time, is able to "laught" a bit about ones previous foolishness to get ride of useless remorse once understood.

But maybe householder meant "Galgenhumor"...

Black comedy, also known as black humor, dark comedy or gallows humor, is a comic style that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, particularly subjects that are normally considered serious or painful to discuss...
Surely a place where householder @Shadow Wolf often dwelled in here past.

Such does not bring one further, yet of course possible to rest ones case for long time there. Not conductive for long terme happiness.

Most humor is about the tension of expectation vs reality.

As such, it is often didactic. It reminds us that our expectations and prejudices fool us.

As said, householder Howard, such is useful from time to time. How ever, it also carries the danger of developing what is called "householder-equanimity" and heads to in-action.

Use of certain easy gained joy to stand up again and continue serious is surely useful. Does not make sense to rest in remorse.

You can say to your defilements: "so, you think that you die without "sex"... then let's see". Conceit and desire are needed to progress.

Pocking, similar to titillation can also help. Yet dangerous if the other does not have great regard and respect.

Maybe it has been perceived that my person is "titillating" constantly.

How ever, the fun of useless chatter is another which always goes on lose of others. That's actually the topic here.

And? Laughing at death, laughing at life's unpleasantries, you'd be surprised how empowering and liberating that is that is. It may not ease all anxieties, but it helps when you can laugh at it. Black comedy can be grand.
Indeed, laughter is a wonderful medicine.

Young householder seems to always assume that others general do not know other ways. Maybe it helps young householder that this person next to other worldly successful undertaking run serial hardrock clubs, punk, indi... incl. downtown and center of conservatives, used to have good press on Antrax-party in conservative press while antrax-terror, just as a sample... once he was still a householder. Yet again, it does not help others no one self to progress, entertaining one low till aging sickness death approches. And again, to laught at ones old follishness when understanding is useful sometimes. To laught foolish because actually not seeing the danger or thinking secure, like a blind child, will make things more worse, losing even all respect of what needs respect.

Sure there are those speaking, yet neither knowing this or the next, yet there are those knowing where others are, knowing both.

Denying laughter makes one a fool
May householder try to refrein from laughing. She would wonder how much knowing her self and insight, wisdom would arise. As well how caught people are when not knowing whats going on within them.

Training of virtue is not done for virtues sake but to access more refined joy. It's total not the case that wise deny joy but the opposit.

That why wise do not approve joking, since it is for the lose of others that one lifts himself by such means.
This is a terribly unfortunate take on human interactions from my perspective. Joking around is a huge icebreaker, huge way to bond, a huge way to make any particular situation more fun for all involved.

As an example, my kids recently drove themselves to my parents' house (their grandparents, obviously) and my sister and brother (their aunt and uncle) were there. They made fun of me the entire time with my kids, because I wasn't there to defend myself. At one point, they picked on the fact that I don't say swear words (well, not many anyway - and I almost never use the "F" word, and have never in front of my kids). My kids had my back though, and informed my sister and brother that their dad is hilarious even without using swear words... to which my sisten and brother had to agree and admit. I make them all laugh all the time... and I almost never "make fun" of anyone. Joking and comedy doesn't have to be at anyone's expense. The fact that you think it does makes me have to just think you have a pretty poor sense of humor.
