Will Jesus return in the year 6000?

The millennial kingdom that is mentioned in Revelation could represent the seventh day. And if we count the years from Adam to today, then we are currently about in the 6000 year . Thus we are just before the seventh day .
What do you think about it?

Will Jesus return in the year 7.000*? (I mean 7,000, not 6,000)

I'm not sure I'm following your math. Per the Bible, there were about 4,000 years from the fall of Adam and Eve to the birth of Christ. As of the year 2,000, it was about 6,000 years from the fall. That means we are now in the 7th day or 7th thousand year period, which means the return of Christ is very soon. Is this what you're suggesting?

I've heard this idea a lot. I believe Christ will return to reign on earth, nobody knows when, but the signs of the times say we are in the "last days".

It’s a pagan thing. According to something I saw on YouTube (eat me) the astronomical beginning of the next age in the cycle,Aquarius, is in around 150 years. Each cycle has it’s mythical pantheon.

I am not a Christian, but I don’t see any need to believe in a historical Jesus anyway, even if I was. It seems like people want an ironclad guarantee that they will go to heaven before they are prepared to be decent human beings, which is all that is asked of them in the final analysis.

Yeah.. for the past 2000 years we have been in the "last days".

I read something very interesting in the epistle from Barnabas. He writes:
Barnabas 15:3
Of the Sabbath He speaketh in the beginning of the creation; And
God made the works of His hands in six days, and He ended on the
seventh day, and rested on it, and He hallowed it.

Barnabas 15:4
Give heed, children, what this meaneth; He ended in six days. He
meaneth this, that in six thousand years the Lord shall bring all
things to an end; for the day with Him signifyeth a thousand years;
and this He himself beareth me witness, saying; Behold, the day of
the Lord shall be as a thousand years.
Therefore, children, in six
days, that is in six thousand years, everything shall come to an end.

Barnabas 15:5
And He rested on the seventh day. this He meaneth; when His Son
shall come, and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One, and shall
judge the ungodly, and shall change the sun and the moon and the
stars, then shall he truly rest on the seventh day.

"In The Year 2525"
(originally by Zager & Evans)

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Can't tell the truth, can't tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Won't need no teeth, won't need your eyes
Won't find a thing to do
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your side
Your legs have nothing to do
Some machines doin' that for you

In the year 6565
Won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your sons, pick your daughters too
From the bottom of a long glass tube wouwo

In the year 7510
If god is commin' he should make it by then
Maybe he'll look around and say:
"Now it's time for the judgement day!"

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty hand
He'll leave a salient place where man has been
Or tear it down and start again wouwo

In the year 9595
I'm wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything earth had to give
And he's put back nothing wouwo

Now it's been 10.000 years man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew now man's reign is through
But through eternal light the twinklin' of starlight
So very far away now it's night to yesterday,

Jesus has already returned. He's been reincarnated and he's in his late seventies. His new name is William Alan Troetschel and he will lead the "sons of darkness".
No, I think he's only 71. He used to do my Mother's hair.

(I mean, since we're making up stuff, just thought I'd add a little.)

Jesus says that nobody knows the day or the hour so I dont think that anybody can even make a guess at such a thing. Many people have tried in the past but failed.

Jesus says that nobody knows the day or the hour so I dont think that anybody can even make a guess at such a thing. Many people have tried in the past but failed.

But however, in the book of Revelation Jesus Christ himself has revealed all about the day and hour of his return.
What is happening in the day and hour just before Jesus Christ returns.

When Jesus Christ spoke those words,
That no one knows the day and hour of his return this was way before the book of Revelation was written.

That now the book of Revelation is written, Jesus Christ in his book of Revelation has uncovered and revealed all about the day and hour of his return to earth.

It's all there in the book of
Revelation 11, that when the two witnesses of God's are killed and after 3 and a half days, God calls them up to heaven and then the 7th trumpet sounds and Jesus Christ appears coming in the cloud of Angels.
This being the day and hour of his return.
As no one knows the exact day or hour, but by what Jesus Christ did give, is to watch for the two witnesses of God's, and when the two witnesses are killed, we know then at the end of the 3 and half days Jesus Christ returns.

Thanks. I know about the signs. So we would know the rough time that we would be living in towards the end. I am applying to the verse with respect to concluding exact dates, such as Jesus arriving in the year 7000.

According to the Hebrew calendar we are just in the year 5779, and Jesus' arrival is supposed to be in the year 7000.

Interesting. I actually misthought on this as I didn't understand the below quote. I always thought that 6000 started in 1975. But the below from the JW's publications mentioned that 6000 years would end in 1975, thereby possibly ushering in the millennium rule in the year 7000. :

"The published timetable resulting from this independent study gives the date of man's creation as 4026 B.C.E. According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975 C.E. So six thousand years of man's existence on earth will soon be up, yes, within this generation. So in not many years within our own generation we are reaching what Jehovah God could view as the seventh day of man's existence. How appropriate it would be for Jehovah God to make of this coming seventh period of a thousand years a sabbath period of rest and release, a great Jubilee sabbath for the proclaiming of liberty throughout the earth to all its inhabitants! This would be most timely for mankind. It would also be most fitting on God's part, for, remember, mankind has yet ahead of it what the last book of the Holy Bible speaks of as the reign of Jesus Christ over earth for a thousand years, the millennial reign of Christ. It would not be by mere chance or accident but would be according to the loving purpose of Jehovah God for the reign of Jesus Christ, the 'Lord of the Sabbath,' to run parallel with the seventh millennium of man's existence." Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God 1966 pp.26-30

Would you then say that this is the most accurate they have come to predicting when Armageddon would happen?

That 1975 was the year 6000 is wrong. Nobody knows exactly in which year we are, one can only estimate it. But that we are in the year 5779 is the closest to the truth.
And what is very interesting is that Jehovah's Witnesses also believe in this "theory".
I also believe that the 7th day, the year 6000, is the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom.

This is what many of them used to believe. It was a possibility set out by them before 1975. They don't believe it anymore because it never came to pass.

I've improved my contribution.
1975 was never the year 6000.
We're on the verge of it.
