What is it that Satan wants?

We see how he was before sin.

Ezekiel 28:12-15
"12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

Biblical prophecy reminds us that what was once a majestic and beautiful being is coming one day soon to planet earth, and he wont come in all his wickedness.

2 Corinthians 11:14
"14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

So what does Satan want? To claim what he believes are rightfully his, so what is it? Revelation gives us a clue:

Revelation 13:4
"4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"

Revelation 13:15
"15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."

Revelation 19:20
"20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

Ultimately, to deceive people so they end up in the same state he is in. That is damnation/eternally being cut off from the presence of God or forgiveness. This is why in the book of Job, satan continually accuses Job and tries to prove that given enough bad things happening that Job would curse God. Satan couldn't stand the fact that Job refused to curse God because it was condemnation of satan himself who had sinned against God for even less pretext.

To decieve.

Thessalonians 5: 1-4

5 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Satan generally doesn't deceive at all, he accepts your soul, the contract.

You can 'worship' the satan without even knowing it, again, not deception, just worship by default.

If there is 'deception', you are welcome to present the verse. It's more likely just temptation, or similar.

There are two children in this world, the children of God and the children of the devil. One child serves God and the other serves himself and his lustful flesh. We all have the devil inside us. his name is Greed, Lust, Murderer, Covetous,,etc

Indeed...all worship that is not in line with Christ's teachings will go to the devil by default. All worship that does not have God's approval goes to satan because the devil inspired all of it. He is the Master of mimicry.

It is true that temptation is the devil's most successful MO....as is "divide and conquer" which he orchestrated in Eden by dividing Adam's loyalties between his wife and his God. But he lied to the woman about the penalty for eating the forbidden fruit.....that is deception.

Deception plays a big part in his arsenal of dastardly tricks.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12....
"But the lawless one’s presence is by the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and wonders 10 and every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth in order that they might be saved. 11 That is why God lets a deluding influence mislead them so that they may come to believe the lie, 12 in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness."

If we have no love for the truth, we will be open to satan's deceptions....like sitting ducks.

Its in the verses....

He wants to be worshipped....

Revelation 13:8
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

I cited the verse. Thessalonians 5 says it clearly. But I can ya do ya one even better. ;)

As it was so in the beginning it will be in the end.

Genesis 3:1

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Revelations 12:9

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Deception tends to mean some type of not knowing, Eve certainly knew the rule that was given, so, again, is this deception, or temptation...

Also, it was considered a sin, so there clearly is an idea that this isn't merely Satans fault.

Other verses would be welcome, for more context

Yes but Satan deceived her into thinking she would not die, knowing that her soul would be able to perish only if she ate of the fruit.

You can't be mad at a dog for being a dog. A dog gonna do dog things. The fault lies with us no matter how hard Satan tries to deceive.

Sure,

Genesis 3 2-4

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Satan deceives by playing coy mind games. He says "here eat of the fruit, surely you will not die (today)". Which is true they didn't die that very day, they gained the ability to die that day. Which Satan conveniently omitted.

Satan wants you to become your True Self, to escape the chains of religious enslavement and realize your full potential Self. MY WILL BE DONE as opposed to Thy Will Be Done. This is what Satan wants of us . . . if there was a Satan of course
