According to the Holy Bible, how are we forgiven for our sins?

That is, our personal sins.

I understand baptism cleanses us of original sin once and for all.

Do we need to confess our sins to God in prayer according to the Bible?
Do we need to tell God we are sorry for our sins?
Do we need to repent for our sins?
If so, what do we need to do or say as our penance?

I know the Catholics confess to a priest.

I want hear from Protestants how forgiveness of personal sins works according to scripture.

We should apologise and make amends to anyone we have wronged, not some god who isn't likely to exist.

In the Bible, the OT, I think, we first experience Contriteness, and then Repentance. If we do those two things the sin is forgiven full stop. No need for confession, or the anointing of oils or anything else. satan convinces us that there needs to be lots of drama and ritual to be forgiven and it is just not true. It is simple if one can accept it. In my study of all the drama around it, I became convinced that satan is deeply entrenched in the church. I'll have to dig out the scripture reference. It is 12:30 AM, so tomorrow, perhaps.

It is my belief that the concept of "original sin" is not true because it is not supported by the scriptures.

When certain men heard the testimony of the Apostles and felt the witness of the Holy Ghost they asked a similar question,

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:37-38)

Repentance comes before baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost is given so that we can continue to repent and be cleansed from sin throughout our lives.

Repentance is a process of feeling sorrow for our sins, admitting them to God, asking for forgiveness and doing our best to avoid that sin in the future.

If we do our best, God will know it and we will be cleansed of our sins both at baptism and when we partake of the emblems of His sacrifice (bread/wine or water) after our baptism.

Certain sins, such as those that involve very addictive behaviors or substances may require the aid of Church leaders in order to be overcome and forgiven of.

When you need to go to Church leadership is between the sinner and the Lord.

Repent and pray for forgiveness; if possible for Jewish people and if you want to for Noachides, a sacrifice.

There are several Scriptures, but I think the best is Isaiah 66:2 "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
