Most atheists realize Buddhists don't worship monkeys or elephants. But, then again, many Buddhists are atheists.
And not many atheists do reach the "black skin curse" thingy. They realize that at least a few Biblical characters already would have been black, because that's where their from. It's a common CE mistake of some Christians though, to make all the characters white and assume such a curse turned skin black.

Wrong

Yes they do, that's their gods
They don't believe in god.
Do Buddhist believe in god?

Do Buddhist believe in god?
No, we do not. There are several reasons for this. The Buddha, like modern sociologists and psychologists, believed that religious ideas and especially the god idea have their origin in fear. The Buddha says:

"Gripped by fear men go to the sacred mountains,
sacred groves, sacred trees and shrines".
It can't be wrong, because there is no Biblical indication of race. Ham was cursed, but it says nothing about his or his family's skin color/ethnicity. The Bible also makes no indication of what the curse was. We could just as easily assume the curse laid upon Cain turned him black. Or white. Or gave him that disorder that turns your skin blue. Or it didn't change their color at all. It's purely speculation. We pretty much just have to assume they would look more or less like everybody else who hails from the Middle East.

Ancient texts and 2 Nophi tells about the black curse, it's not a secret

1.racism

In Genesis 9, condemned all Africans to slavery when he cursed Ham and when he cursed Ham he turned black, according to the Bible Africans are cursed and condemned to forever slavery, textbook racism

First off, it was Noah who cursed Ham - not God. Secondly, there is no mention of anyone being transformed into a black person in the bible. It's OK to critique the scriptures - but do so with some intellectual integrity please.

2. Homophobic-God wanted to kill all gays in the Desert with Moses(Read Leviticus 20:13), he also supposedly destroyed a city because they were gay, (Read Genesis 18)

Homosexuality is considered a sin, but that is not the same as Homophobia. Homosexuality goes against God's design and intentions for us. That commandment had nothing to do with God wanting Moses to go through and purge the homosexuals in the desert, but is a general commandment against homosexuality.

As for Genesis 18, homosexuality was just one of many issues that God had with Sodom. The reason it was destroyed wasn't because there were gay people, but because there wasn't a single righteous person living there. They were corrupt through and through.

You are simply being intellectually disingenuous in your interpretation of these passages.

3.Sexism-

We find this in 1 Corinthians chapter 14:

  • "As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."
This seems like a straightforward passage. And God is the one who inspired the Bible. In Isaiah 40:8 God says that the word of the Lord will last forever, and he says the same thing again in 1 Peter 1:24-25. So here we have God, in his eternal and everlasting Word, saying that it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

The scriptures are extremely progressive, regarding all as equal:

Galatians 3:28There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Women are not considered inferior. Rather, the scriptures support traditional roles for men and women. There is much value in these traditional roles, and modern society is suffering when both husband and wife are working full time rather than having the wife at home. Understanding and supporting traditional roles is not sexist - but a blind rejection thereof is quite foolish.

Wow, God is racist, sexist and homophobic, really seems to wonder why people believe in this bronze age book

Try and debunk this

Easy to debunk. If you want to critique the scriptures, that's fine - but do so with some intellectual honesty next time.

Bonus!: Name one reason why God would use text as a form of communication, Wouldn't a 1 trillion iq god understand that Text in the form of the Bible can be interpreted wrong and wrote down wrong?God is not very smart, why can't he just say "hello" to people

Any form of communication is subject to interpretation - doesn't matter if it is text or speech. Interpretation isn't issue, as anyone who takes the time to study the texts earnestly, and with intellectual integrity, will get to the truth.

They tend not to teach that you should WORSHIP deities (though they don't prohibit it either). However, traditional forms of Buddhism most definitely believe in deities (which was part of the reason it so easily expanded into other regions, you could continue worshiping your local deities AND practice Buddhism). In fact, being reborn as a god is just one of many forms that one can potentially be reborn as.

I keep hoping for better from you, for reason, though I thing my hopes are misplaced. Can't remember the other thread at this moment where you try to justify (yet again) the massacre of the Canaanites, but why not just restrict it to the Midianites? Let's go to Numbers 31:1-18....

17 Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man ]intimately. 18 But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.

Would it help to ask if you remember that Moses's wife was, by some coincidence, a Midianite?

What basic part of human feeling is so missing in you that you cannot read a sentence like "kill every male among the little ones" and not feel offended to the very core of your being?

And if you are not offended, then I think I must always have been wrong to have ever hoped there was something better in you...
Yes... you keep saying things like:

1) Nobody ever answers me
2) I expect better
3) I'm missing basic human feeling
4) God is so horrible

And I can't say I blame you for thinking that way... if I had gone through what you went through, I may be the one saying the same thing.

However, you are still looking through the eyes of hurt and so your viewpoint is still looking through the glasses of hurt. You also pick out verses at the expense of other verses

As an atheist, you are also looking at this as if the only life there is, is a short 60 - 100 years yet I view it in eternity.

“Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33:11)

Certainly I have a heart when someone is killed. Even God doesn't like it.

But I also don't know the future. It was asked of Jews if they would have killed Hitler as a child had they foreknowledge of what he would do... their answer was an resounding "YES". But we don't know the future.

We also bombed Germany with many small children being killed and yet most people (especially those of that time) would say it was necessary,

We do know that later the Midianites continued to kill Israelites and innocent people even as they wanted the Israelites destroyed before the commandment was given to go to war with them. (Which hopefully was your oversight and not done on purpose)

So if I take the Bible as a whole and not just the portions that support your position, I would still come to the conclusion that God is slow to anger, quick in mercy and desires that NONE should perish (all scriptural).. but man is man. They abuse children, murder innocent people, create sex trade slavery, sell drugs that kill, rape the poor and then blame God for what man has done when it is man that basically has the charge in this earth.

I pray you find your peace

IMO the god of the bible doesn't exist. Therefore it can't be racist, homophobic and sexist unless you believe in the said god.

And I thought that "For God so loved the WORLD" which includes everyone and you too even in your unbelief and rant.
Thank you, I like that.
So it seems to me (reading below revelations) that God loves the Atheist, at least when they viciously attack Him 24/7, as in "Cold Fire" (The more the better even)

Yesterday in the Church they had an interesting Bible verse:
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
Bible Gateway passage: Revelation 3:15-17 - New International Version

In this context:
"hot" means to me, saying "YES" to God, going with God (hot fire)
"not hot nor cold" means is to me, not saying "YES" nor saying "NO"
"cold" means to me, saying "NO" to God, going against God (cold fire)

Cold Fire definition:
"A paradoxical saying, where a person is disrespected unmeasurably. It is so intense that others can feel the 'coldness' of the' burn'."

Master in India used to say "To me, Praise and Blame are the same". Meaning "not judging" into good and bad

Indian anecdote teaching the same:
Krishna chops off the head of the man who viciously verbally attacks Him. Head and blood touches the Feet of Krishna. This means "Big Blessing", meaning "Merging in Krishna ... 1 with God". People witnessing this, got very upset, telling Krishna "How unfair is this, he abuses you, and You bless him big time?". Krishna replies similar "At least He thinks 24/7 of me, that's all I ask. I don't care if he blames or praises me"

Nope, not Africans they were cursed, reread your bible and Genesis 9
How do you get to the following?
1. Ham was an African.
2. he was sentenced to be a slave?
I think you should look at your Atheist examples in the 20th century, mau Tse Dong, Stalin, Pol Pot, Kim yung Un, Castro, and so on to see what Atheism delivered in the name of "The Biblical God is Bad!"

So if the Bible was all great, it would compare to the ethnic standards of today, right?
Dont you know that the Ethic standards of Atheism was one that killed the most people ever.
26 million in Russia, 15 million in China, numerous more in other communist and socialist countries, Peru, Argentinia, Cuba, Venezuella, Bosnia, not to even think of the Asian Chinese countries.

The Ethnic standards in the west was founded upon the "Judeo - Christian Morals", pal.
If it would have been for the Moral standards of Atheissm, you would not have had the privelagre to paste stuff like this on this forum.
Nice to be protected by Judean Christian Morals contained in the Modern Western World, that allows you this freedom, is it not?

Of course you didn't

Noah had 3 sons Shem, Japheth and Ham. Noah only cursed Ham and his children and Ham's children were destined to be slaves to Shem and Japheth and their descendants. (Genesis 9)
Genesis 10 gives us the start of Nations.
Only Ham's children were the first Africans.
1. 4. Four Sons of Ham
1. Mizraim (Egypt)
2. Cush (Sudan, Ethiopia)
3. Put (Lybia)
4. Canaan (Land of Canaanites)
As you can see those are African countries. Both the curse and hot sun changed the genetics of Hams descendant. This gave rise to the African race and phenotypes.
Big chance mate.
The Egyptians were whities!
The Lybians were Whities!
The Cananites were Whities!
You might have a point on Cush, Sudan and Etiopia, but wont you tell us why only one son out of 4 would be black, if the other 3 were white?

All this stuff has been repeated a jillion times, and rebutted that many times.

The new atheist style is apparent, as is the anger. Why not find something new to ***** about, this has become very boring. I am bored just having to say how boring it is.

Then you're atheist not agnostic
