Pagans and Thanksgiving

I was wondering how pagans generally celebrate Thanksgiving. Mabon is pagan Thanksgiving, but America celebrates the day when the indians and immigrants from Britain got along great, or not so much. Should we celebrate it?

There's really no rules, aside from whatever particular tradition you follow. Mabon isn't part of my particular tradition, for example. I do celebrate Thanksgiving, myself. I enjoy the meal, watching the parade and spending time with loved ones. To me, it's just a time to be thankful, regardless of the origins of it.

agree 100%. no matter what name you or your kin may call it, the time of the Harvest is simply a time to be thankful for the plenitudes you enjoyed during the summer and what you have going into the dark part of the year. for both of these times, while bounties may come and go, hopefully family and friendships will be enduring. no matter what religious path you follow, that is truly something worth being Thankful for.

Well, no I mean I celebrate it as a time for family. A sort of Harvest's End, and a time to reflect on all that I have going into the dead of Winter. Hell, Thanksgiving is one of the few "normal" holidays that isn't inherently religious.

They only reason I acknowledge the day at all is because I must out of cultural/familial tradition. But my ways are hardly "shoulds" for anybody else, yeah?
