If a church wants to renovate who are you to tell them they can't. Let us say I owned this marvel of architecture built by the famous Greene brothers:

And wanted to tear it down, to build a new house. Who are you to tell me I can't?

If a church chooses to renovate and get rid of their Nazi symbols then so let them. It is nobodies business but the church

They are not necessarily nazi symbols, long before that they were religious symbols.

And of course planning regulations and preservation orders carry far more legal weight than sensibilities.

Oh and to some extent, the nazi symbol was religious

The swastika predates the Nazis by like a few thousand years. It is in reality a universal symbol, likely derived from the patterns found in weaving. Even Jewish tribes used the swastika. I think there’s even a movement of Jewish folk who want to reclaim the Swastika.
It is very sacred and holy to certain religions to this day. And we will absolutely not bow to ignorance and hate. It’s our ancient symbol used to represent peace and we will use it if we want. It’s the age of information, ignorance is not a good enough excuse to tear down ancient artwork or religious buildings.
(Oh and to hell with Nazis. Bunch of fascist ********.)

Well the Nazis ruined lots of things for people. You don't see many people running around with toothbrush mustaches anymore.

I don't care what Hindus say, it's a Nazi symbol full-stop. You can't give it special treatment when everything around us is appropriated to different meanings. Once the Nazis used it, it ceased to be a Hindu symbol as far as I'm concerned, just like the appropriation of other things in our current culture.

WWMRD?
I fully endorse the reclamation of the Swastika, it is a beautiful symbol of life and the forces of nature forever moving onward.

Actually I have seen toothbrush moustaches. Fun fact, Charlie Chaplin used his own iconic toothbrush moustache to counter the Nazi propaganda during the 30s. (It makes sense in context.)
Besides the Nazi swastika is tilted the wrong way, anyway. A Dharmic Swastika is not. Hell my cousin is legally named Swastika (meaning auspiciousness.)
We will not kowtow to the hate and fear of the Nazis.
