Protestants worship themselves

This is my position. Who agree/disagrees, and why?
Sure... though I'd extend it to theists in general.

IMO, any god-concept is an expression of the believer's values, ideas of perfection, etc.

There's a reason that people tend to believe in gods who agree with them: because the gods are aspects of the believers themselves, IMO.

Edit: but don't think that Protestants are especially guilty of doing this.

I'd even place a bet on that Protestants are closet or masked Atheists.

That's a pretty wide brush your using to paint that picture. The hundreds of protestant denominations can't even agree on many basic things, much less conspire to go out on such a limb as you suggest.

I think there's more evidence that Atheists worship YHWH than there is evidence Protestants worship Jesus. I'd even place a bet on that Protestants are closet or masked Atheists.

ROFL... who exactly are these 'atheists' who don't believe that any god or gods exist who worship YHWH? Are they something like those folks who don't believe in Bigfoot, but who worship Sasquatch?

They believe they are all Children of God.
So as they grow up they turn all into God themselves

So yes, protestants do worship themselves, I would say.

This is my position.

You are in the awkward position of providing no support for your "position".
So we are now in the position of being aware that you have a position, actually two positions, which you have not attempted to even support....what now? I could accurately describe your current position, but the post would be deleted by the admins.

That is my point, there is more evidence that Atheists worship YHWH than there is evidence that Protestants who worship Jesus. Protestants worship themselves and Atheists don't worship anything.

You're asking for how? why? for what reason?

Are you asking for what reason I want to know the supporting evidence or reasons behind your claim?

Shouldn't that be self evident?

This is a "debate" forum. That's how debate works. In order to make a claim you need supporting evidence and reasons why you believe your claim is true.

If you don't have any evidence or reasons to share then we have no reason to believe your claim has any truth to it whatsoever.

The burden of proof for a claim is on the one making the claim to first establish why their claim is true.

That is my point, there is more evidence that Atheists worship YHWH than there is evidence that Protestants who worship Jesus. Protestants worship themselves and Atheists don't worship anything.

Repeating your claim, and writing it in bold, doesn't prove that it is true.
You need to provide some evidence and reasons why your claim is true if you expect to have a dialogue about it.
Since you are the one who made the claim, the onus is first on you to prove why your claim is true.
Nobody here has any reason to accept without evidence that your claim is true and then debate with the assumption that your premise is true.

Muffled

Jesus in me
I believe that is not so and is as far as one can get from the truth. Christians have to relinquish self in order to have Jesus as Lord.

I have my doubts about that. Certainly humanists worship themselves but atheists are more apt to worship science.

a) my comment was what is known as "tongue in cheek".
b) your "apt to worship science" is so nonsensical
that it hardly rises to the level of "not even wrong".

I believe even the Roman Catholics believe that.

And have you observed that this holy spirit
giveth unto them about as many different /
contradictory infallible meanings as there
are people doing their infallible readings?
