The Folly of Atheism

Of course not. There may be all kinds of beings besides gods lurking in higher dimensions capable of creating universes. It might even be a parlor game.

But as it isn't a parlour game - and as no such beings exist (except in SF) - God does exist after all.

Surely you can see that both fantastical claims come with an equal lack of verifiable evidence. At least in MY example I explain HOW my magical fairies created the universe. With yours we're simply told that your fantastical god just did it. The only difference is that you've been brainwashed to believe in your God since birth. If your parents and community had brought you up with stories about the magical farting fairies, you'd be claiming that it's OBVIOUS that THEY created the universe

Thus if you can dismiss my magical fairy claim as silly, I can just as easily dismiss your God claim as silly.

God isn't a fantastical idea; but a simple and logical one.

Magical pixies are fantastical and silly.

Whether God is silly - well, you'll be able to discuss that when you meet Him.

I'm a Catholic DESPITE a Catholic upbringing, not because of it.

As your parents and community brought you up to sneer at God, you are doing so.

ALL holidays are atheist ones-- this is because atheists are not brainwashed into Magical Non-think.

Furthermore, since nobody-- NOBODY has any proof of their particular god or gods? NONE of their "holidays" are religious--not really.

Everyone is Godless-- it's just that lots of people pretend otherwise.

No one indulges in Magical Non-think more than Atheists. Their belief in a magical, self-created universe is the best thing in that line.

Everyone knows that God exists - it's just that some people pretend otherwise.

Oral tradition is how myths are formed. And there is very little in the way of "ancient texts" to support your claims. Yes some early Christians were killed. But the myths of how they died is totally different. Think of George Washington and the Cherry Tree. George Washington, real, the cherry tree, not so much.

"Myths" , i.e. stories.

Many stories are true.

God isn't a fantastical idea; but a simple and logical one..

Logic? What logic would this be? So far, I've not seen any from you.

Magical pixies are fantastical and silly..

Indeed they are-- no more silly than "god", actually. And both pixies and god have the exact same logical support: None.
Whether God is silly - well, you'll be able to discuss that when you meet Him..

Not logical. Threats that nobody can actually demonstrate. And you ask why we think you're being silly!
I'm a Catholic DESPITE a Catholic upbringing, not because of it..

Indeed: childhood indoctrination can be quite strong, and difficult to resist-- it takes a pretty strong will to question what was forced into your child-mind from birth.
As your parents and community brought you up to sneer at God, you are doing so.

Not me-- my parents both died True Believers™. I was raised Fundamentalist Christian™ -- in the One True Church™ (or so I was told at the time... one of many lies I was told at the time...)

I sneer at "god" because every single concept of "god" I've since been presented with? Was Unworthy of the Title.

Most Damning? The presence of God Preventable Large Scale Catastrophic Evil.

Yes it does.
Theist: Belief in God
(Weak) atheist: Absence of belief in the existence of God, absence of belief in the non-existence of God
Strong atheist: Absence of belief in the existence of God, presence of belief in the non-existence of God

"Weak Atheist" = agnostic.

You're stating the old and silly idea that Catholics are puppets.
Sorry. Sheep. I live across the road from a Catholic Church and one of the priests or shepherds or something, I have forgotten the technical term, is a friend. We have had several interesting long discussions.

Muslim misunderstandings about Christianity, yet again..

Ironically? Many muslims are spot-on correct when it comes to the activities of zealot christians. What'ya know?

BTW are you a Muslim ? .
What? That makes less sense than accusing him of a Satan worshiper!
If you keep attacking Christianity, you soon will be, like it or not.

LMAO! Oh. My. If we reject the Mainstream Religion of the US (Xianity), then we are hardly going to pick a minority one...!

Non-religious people do not do any of the Abrhamic Brands for pretty much all the same reasons: None are convincing.

That's THEISTS who say that---- not actual atheists. So I can see how you'd be confused...
The Bible says: "To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good." And some people actually believe that, especially those poor people who still thinks a text book that hasn't been updated for 2000 years is still relevant...

I'm pretty familiar with the Original Testament. I'm certain that Moses and Samuel and such would have considered standard Christian Trinitarian theology and Jesus's divinity utter heresy. A complete breaking of the 1st Commandment, and Jesus's regular depiction in the Christian world breaking the 2nd.
It's no surprise to me that devout Jews completely rejected this pagan polytheism.
Tom

Polytheism ? - the Church condemned the heresy of tritheism many centuries ago.

Christians believe that God is triune: one God with three aspects - eternal mind and eternal thought, joined together by eternal love..

Jews worship the unseen God, Christians worship the Seen God - seen in the person of Jesus Christ. Thus Christians have the liberty of using religious images.

To deny Jesus's death is blasphemy. It's no surprise that many devout Christians completely reject the sinful Jewish repudiation of Jesus.

An entirely futile denial by Jews - since Jews are unable to convert Christians to Judaism (and rarely even try to do so).

Inevitably, since Judaism is a tribal religion, Christianity a universal one.

You take such futility a stage further - since you don't even believe in Judaism !

No one indulges in Magical Non-think more than Atheists. .

That's not atheists saying that-- that would be ... Theists Lying about Atheists. Again. Lying about atheists seems high on the List Of Things To Do for many theists.

Their belief in a magical, self-created universe is the best thing in that line..

Indeed-- who does not appreciate their own "well crafted" LIE, when repeated ad nauseum?
Everyone knows that God exists - it's just that some people pretend otherwise.

Liar. I do not know anything of the sort-- Do Not Lie About What Others Believe. It is breaking of one of your Magic Ten Things We Must Not Do, isn't it?

The Bible says: "To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Well. If a mere FOOL is wise enough to see the OBVIOUS?

A WISE MAN SHOUTS IT FROM THE MOUNTAINTOP: "IF THERE IS A GOD, LET HIM REVEAL HIMSELF"

Alas... such demonstrations are ALWAYS -- 100% -- disappointing.
