So look at the fruit of the spirit and you will see what we want ie love, peace, joy.
Very good point. Thank you. I was saying that the story needs to be told without all the beliefs that the churches have wrapped around it, but the story won’t mean anything to anyone if they don’t see the fruits. That requires constant efforts in self-Improvement, with Jesus as our guide and teacher. Not any Jesus of any churches. Not any historical Jesus. Not any Jesus that people invent for themselves. Those are all more clouds hiding the light from people, and repelling them away from it. The Jesus that I think we need is the Jesus that people can see in the gospel stories, and in the lives of people who are following Him, including their warm feelings and friendly intentions towards all people and all of nature.

I was expecting a lot more criticism than I’m getting, from people on all sides of the debates about Christianity and believing in God.

I believe there is nothing in the Qu'ran to fix the problem.

I believe you sentence doesn't make sense. I believe free will is only a problem if people make it a problem.

I believe the problem is not sin because that can always be punished and justice is satisfied. The problem with the kingdom is that God provides us freedom from sin but only if that is what we want. How can God tell if that is what we want? If we allow Jesus to remove our sins now, the God can be sure we want them removed in the Kingdom.
I wasn't using a verse from the Quran. Was just mainly using common sense. But I understand if the sentence didn't make sense to you.

I don’t see Jesus telling us what the kingdom of heaven is. I only see Him telling us what it is like, using some analogies, and how to go there: Follow Him.

Exactly. Part of what He offers is freedom from our desires making our decisions for us, but He doesn’t impose that on us. We can take it or leave it. Part of what I’ll be meditating about when I read the stories again will be, how does it happen that people want it, and what are some honest and responsible ways to help with that? Maybe anyone who sees Jesus clearly enough will want to follow Him. I think that part of what is hiding Jesus from people now, and repelling them away from Him, is some of the beliefs that all the Christian churches are promoting. I think that people need to hear the story without all the beliefs attached to it.

I think so too. It's just sad how the church tries to decide everything for a person pretty much, including whether Satan, the villain of the Bible, is a literal being.
