Hi everyone! My name is Dill, and I'm new to the forum. I'm a student at the University of Georgia majoring in English education.

I have been a Christian for five years. My upbringing was thoroughly Pentecostal, but around the age of 15, I began to identify as agnostic. When I was 16, I had a spiritual experience during which I became a Christian. I am now a Southern Baptist, and I hold to a fairly orthodox theology and view of Scripture.

If anyone is interested in learning more about my views, learning how they came to be, or challenging them, I welcome it through both this thread and PM.

A warm welcome from me! Sometimes it's a little hard to get to know people through these Introduction threads, but as for your opening post, you seem very three-dimensional. Welcome to an interesting forum full of challengers, goofballs, optimists, realists, and pessimists.

I'm AT-AT. In the New Age community there exists labels such as "New Age Christian" and I wonder if my mindset is a bit close to that, though there's much more to my ideas. I'm a big fan of Avril Lavigne music. I like video games. I'm a big supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, and I wear my opinions on my sleeve.

All the best here at RF and in life.

I became a Baha'i in 1984. Thus it is possible quite a few of the views I have embraced may indeed be a challenge to orthodox Christian views. ;)

That may be. I started studying Baha'i articles though recently, and it got me quite a bit further than most studies of things I look up online.

That experience is important to develop, " i believe" hahahahaha thats funny cuz i know. Even have a theology degree for a cherry on top. Its worthless at least in application to the bible. Wish someone would have told me exactly what i told you 40 years ago.

Oh another Dill...are we related? :p Dills are fairly common on these boards.....you'll spot them no doubt.

Welcome BTW. :)

We'll try not to hold that against you :D.....orthodoxy is very seldom promoted by God, IMO. He has never been mainstream for a very good reason.....his nemesis is the one who promotes "what everyone else" believes. You have to be 'different' to serve the true God and be prepared to cop all the flack that goes with that difference. (John 15:18-21)

I could challenge them all day long, but I believe that they have all been covered very thoroughly already, so do you have anything new to add?

One thing I would like to ask is....how does one go from being Pentecostal to agnostic and then to a "spiritual experience" leading to Southern Baptists? That would be interesting.....

Thats a wonderful picture of RF. If we are not willing to take a verbal beating are we really worthy of being RF posters!
