At Last, A Christian Comes Up With Some Good, Helpful Advice For Godly Women

"Christian Mom: Godly Wives Must Lose Weight if Their Husbands Call Them Fat"

TO NOTE: The following doesn't agree.

"Conservative blogger Lori Alexander has a gift for taking ordinary things and twisting them into something shameful. She despises wives who don’t have sex with their husbands whenever he wants it (“How long does it take?!”). She thinks paid leave is bad for America since it rewards women who work outside the home. And she insists all men only want women who are debt-free virgins with no tattoos.

Her latest take is on eating, and how women who eat too much really have no respect for the men in their lives.

How would you respond if your husband one day looked at you and said, “You’re eating too much. You need to lose weight”? Most women would be highly offended and angry with their husbands. Some would even tell him that it’s none of their business and they shouldn’t ask them to do this. Then they would go to their friends and tell them how unreasonable their husbands are.

Is this the godly wife’s response? No. A godly wife would tell her husband that she will stop eating so much and begin to lose weight since she knows that when she obeys her husband, she is obeying God. Even if it offends her sensibilities, she would keep her emotions under control, respond to her husband’s request with respect, and go about eating less and losing weight.
That entire exchange is the sign of a healthy relationship, said no psychologist ever.

"Shameful"? "Despises wives"? Christian husbands are doing both their wives and themselves a favor. Being a fat, godly wife is not only repulsive but unhealthy.

And yet another example is found where the internet has given a wacko a voice and an impact.

But no less wacko than the original thinking:

"A godly wife would tell her husband that she will stop eating so much and begin to lose weight since she knows that when she obeys her husband, she is obeying God."

Because

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

I disagree.

They better lose weight if they are too fat.

Just use your own common sense; don't depend on husbands for that

How long does it take?!

Of course that is true, but did she really say this? Or are this "Skwim" words?

Godly men just should abstain from sex if they feel their wives are too fat

Lesson here: You can only change yourself ... don't try to change others

Please Note.

If, in my posts, you find indented material that has a clickable "source" at its very end and has quotation marks around it, it is quoted material and not my own, except if a portion is [bracketed like this.] Quite a few other posters here do the same.

I thought the focus on Christian couples was "God"
"have sex with their husbands whenever he wants" implies something different

I like to see the positive here

At least the Christian Lori does not send those "shameful women" to hell. That is already a big improvement

That says a lot about "Lori Alexander"

And "Lori Alexander" seems to swallow whatever her husband wants

Not a big leap to understand why she "despises wives" who don't have sex whenever husband wants

She "despises herself"

Thrusting your weight aside (pun intended), anyone who is against wives having sex with their husbands more often is no friend of mine! For my part, the Bible says I in turn must not deprive my wife when she "wants to get with this" and I LOVE obeying God's commands!

But thanks for judging my religious beliefs again!

I know. Another opinion of Paul or someone writing in his name that is credited as dictated by God. From all I have read, Paul did not like women and at a time when women were treated not so well as cattle. So he is clearly the person to turn to as the basis for how they should be treated and behave.

To me this is just another person that is using the Bible and the appearance of their own righteousness to gain attention for themselves. In my opinion she harbors a lot of jealousy and anger just under that veneer.

Another crazy non-Christian masquerading as a Christian.

Ephesians 5:25-33
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church—
30 for we are members of his body.
31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.
33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

1 Corinthians
13:4 Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love
vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily
provoked, thinketh no evil;
13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things,
endureth all things.
13:8 Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall
fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be
knowledge, it shall vanish away.

It's nice to know that a woman only needs to respect her husband, not love him LOL.

Well then, what about:

Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

1 Peter 3:1-22
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, ...

Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Ephesians 5:22-33
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, ...

1 Peter 3:1-7
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, ...

Ephesians 5:21-33
Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, ...

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.

1 Peter 3:5
For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,

Titus 2:3-5
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.
You can't simply ignore them can you?
