Hi everyone,

I am an atheist with this question for theists. How long do you think you have been a theist?

On and off. I don't think I could accurately combine the years. I would say from about 2014 or so until now I have been and remain a theist, though.

45 years. I encountered the Almighty at 20. I was an atheist before that, and a secular child before that.

30 years, previously atheist for a couple of years... (extreme anti-theist/materialist for a hot minute) and agnostic any time before that. Probably odd only because I'm one of the few people I know whom went from atheism to theism.

Since 1969. From birth until age 24, religion/God was not worth even thinking about.

More of a (pan)deist than a theist proper.
Acting like it now and then without being really convinced: 10+ years
Convinced: 3 years?

Additionally agnostic theist: 6 years.

My parents used to pray with me when I was little and sent me to religion lessons in school even though they're atheists, so I had some unreflected belief in the Christian god until I was like 14 or so.

I was a theist as a child, but became agnostic once I was old enough to doubt. I am still agnostic and very likely will always be. But some years back I realized that theism does not demand that I presume to know that God exists, or to know God's nature. It does not demand that I not be agnostic. Because theism is simply offering me the possibility of a God of my own understanding, existing. It is nothing more than my having the option of accepting this possibility, on faith, if I want it, and then living by it and learning from the results.

Which I have done, and found the results to be far superior to those of atheism. So I would say I have always been a theist, and nearly always an agnostic. I am 62 years old.

I grew up Christian but have spent about 30 years as a Baha'i. The Baha'i Faith like Christianity is monotheistic. I had a nine month spell as an atheist but it wasn't a good fit for me personally. During my teen years religion usually wasn't important to me and at times I was agnostic.

Depends on how one understands the term "theist." Some folks have very constricted notions of who is and isn't a theist. Somewhere between never, a few years, and most of my life depending on how you slice it. The question does not really matter to me, so I do not care what answer someone picks. The label "theist" (or "atheist") is next to meaningless anyway when "gods" can be literally anything.

Roughly 16-17 years, 2 years or so as a monotheist, the rest as a polytheist. However, I've always had theistic and animistic tendencies.
