My religious beliefs: Feel free to ask questions and/ debate them

Hello everyone!

My name is Giomar, and today i'd like to present my personal religious beliefs.
Now, mines are a little unique, in the sense that they do not pertain to any existing religious thoughts, paths, etc.
Over the years i have tried countless times to find a religious path of which i fit into, something that calls me, but none have so far.
So eventually, i decided to look into my own beliefs about religion and spirituality.
What makes sense to me?
What seems most logical, to me?
Thus, after a few weeks concentrating and reflecting, i have concluded my beliefs and faith.
I wouldn't call it a "new religion", i'm in no way a prophet nor a spiritual leader.
Iv'e just come to terms with things that makes sense to me.
As such, here they are-

1. I believe in a being, an existence, which is everywhere, yet, nowhere, similar in concept to the Abrahamic idea of God. I personally call it, The Single Being. It has no gender, nor a name, as far as we know. It is behind the order of the universe, and doesn't have a preference for 'good' or 'evil'. There is no darkness without light, and vise versa. I personally have not tried praying to it, as i have no idea whether it will or even can respond in any way to worship or prayers in the traditional sense. I will try it soon.
2. I believe the universe is connected to The Single Being, rather than the two being separate, and as such, i feel that all celestial objects (including the very mass of rock we live on, earth) should be treated with respect.
3. I believe that all forms of spiritual practices, such as meditation, chanting, balancing energy, etc. Are a vital way to connect with the universe and thus with The Single Being.
4. As for the afterlife and the creation of the world, i really have no say. Only The Single Being can have such knowledge of these topics.

And that pretty much concludes it.
As i mentioned before, i have not really tried to connect or pray to The Single Being. I know there is something out there, but as i have just started to reach a comprehension, I'm not fully 'enlightened if you will.

I look forward to starting conversations!

I also believe in a powerful single entity able to send me to the highest levels of bliss when i come in contact with It. It is called Single Malt.

Ciao

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
I have also went down the road of making my own religion. I basically boil it down to nature is a vast superintelligence with conscious entities in the sea of superintelligence. My sticking point is that life cant come from non life.

What do you mean by calling it a “path”? When I see people talking about their “path,” usually it’s about how they live their life. Is their anything in your religion about how you live your life?

Lol, you misread the sentence.
I was referring to other religions, i was trying out other religious paths, to see if i fit in to any.
I don't consider my beliefs a religion per se.

. i'm just trying to connect with The Single Being.
I can see that as possibly wanting to live in a personal relationship with The Single Being. Maybe you already are in that relationship, but you just aren’t feeling it. Have you ever had the experience of wishing for something in your life for some time, maybe months or years, then realizing that you already had it? If you look back through your life for examples of what could be part of a personal relationship with The Single Being, maybe you will see something. For example, what people sometimes call “communion with nature.” Another thing to think about is, what is calling you, what is moving you, to want to connect with The Single Being? Could that in itself be part of that relationship? The best personal relationships are always evolving. Maybe you could think of what you’re being called to do as growing a personal relationship with The Single Being, that you’re already in. The connection is not an on/off thing. It’s a growing thing.

@Giomar Vazquez Your desire to connect could be part of a connection that you already have, and you’re being called to grow it. Maybe connection is not a destination. Maybe it’s a never-ending story.

Wow, you opened my eyes more than i thought possible. You're right, perhaps i already am in a way connected to It, being that i recognized it's existence.
I will build upon it soon enough and do some rituals or the such, to try and connect more deeply with The Single Being. If anything significant happens, i'll be sure to share it in the forum.

Here is my question..

It seems from your OP that you have essentially made up your own unique religion that only you adhere to.

Who are you, that you can discern things of this depth, which even the greatest minds and the most spiritual of souls have struggled with and still have difficulty coming to an agreement upon?

There are a handful of religions which have stood the test of time. They offer the distilled wisdom of time. You, with your Johnny come lately ideas, cannot possibly compare to these.

Would you consider looking at them in depth, with an open mind?

Well, firstly, i already stated in my post that i don't really consider this a religion, it's just my view of the divine and the universe. And secondly, i also stated this in the post, i do not claim to know the full nature of this entity, nor what it is, nor anything on it's behavior. I have not claimed to know it. I have based my current beliefs on weeks of self contemplating and research on the nature of the universe, and have thus concluded there is indeed some sort of entity out there, just not the current known Gods of today. In fact, i'm not the first apparently to have these beliefs, as i have found out that a path called Deism has many concepts similar to my way of thinking.

I also do not claim to be a prophet, nor some sort of 'divine revealer', as i have also stated.

You ask me to look into current religions with an open mind (which i have, and i find concepts of many existing religions interesting and have incorporated into my own lifestyle), yet you don't do the same for my beliefs.

No offense, friend. But my assumption is that you are on par with me, an ordinary person, rather than LaoTze, Buddha, Muhammed, Jesus, etc., much less Moses.

Exactly, i do not claim to be the prophet of a new religion. I'm just a normal human being. nothing more, nothing less.

@Giomar Vazquez After you’ve done some exploring on your own, it might help to look for someone who is trained and experienced in the ways that you are learning, who can help you learn. You could look for people like that in different religions, until you find someone who looks well practiced in what you’re learning. That could be in any religion, no matter what you think of the beliefs of its followers.

Again, I do not wish any offense -- I'm actually quite happy that you are spiritual at all.

IMHO, normal people, such as you and I, do not formulate our own religions, which is essentially what it looked like the OP did. IOW it didn't look like the OP espoused any of the World Religions, but was rather particular to you.

Jesus in me
Ahh, the Baha'i faith. I actually have one of the holy books of Baha'i, i think it's called the book of servitude? I'm not sure, i only know it's original title, the Kitab-i-iqan. I considered this path, but i didn't really feel connected as i am a homosexual, and there are some teachings against homosexuality, so i didn't feel welcome.

I believe that reveals the crux of your problem. The path does not please you, so you refuse to fit into it.

You must understand, it's not just things like that which deter me, i don't feel any God when i try religious paths, as i have told other people on this thread.
It's not simply a matter of "oh they don't accept homosexuals, so i refuse to practice the religion", even though i know the Baha'i faith is strict on homosexuality, i still gave it a shot, and din't feel God once again.
I feel spiritually dissatisfied with every religion i have tried, and THAT is why i ultimately haven't made myself a part of any religion.
Also, what about it seems to be "baseless fantasy"
I literally only stated that i acknowledge a God exists.
I do not claim in any way to know its nature or the like, or have details on an afterlife or creation story.
I just know a God exists and that's that.
If believing in a God that isn't any of the Gods from current religions is "baseless fantasy", then i guess Deism is just a baseless fantasy as well.

I get what you're saying, and i've heard this argument a lot.
It's not so much so that i want to 'fit in' with a religion (although sometimes i find the lack of tolerance in some unnerving), i'm just trying to connect with The Single Being.
I've tried connecting with it through multiple names and paths, the various religions i have looked into, but ultimately, there are so many religions and beliefs that i don't know which God or Gods is/ are the true God/ Gods.
And thus, i decided to look into my beliefs, the universe, cosmology, the material and spiritual world, and have decided that there is indeed an essence, or being, out there, wether it's a God in the traditional sense, Goddess, both, or neither, is unknown, and probably won't ever be known unless it decides to reveal itself.

The advice I would like to give you is this: Our Creator loves us and knows our hearts and deals with us on an individual level, the Creator I honor is not the same God the bible talks about, for I think the bible is a story written by man and has passed down for centuries, to control by scare tactics my Creator is truly all about Love!! he doesn't speak of a hell, and doesn't and will never judge you on some so called judgement day, because when he says he forgives you, that is that, no need for judgement day,he doesn't order you not to use certain methods that will benefit you spiritually and he accepts everyone beliefs and understands them and why this is how you feel he will love you as a individual and will not hold you to another beliefs and practices!! Your soul and spirit is different from anyone else, so why would he expect for you to worship him the same as others? He doesn't. Connect with your single being in the way you discover is best for you and rejoice and continue on with The single beings blessing, cause no one breathes life into you each morning but The single being!! no other matters.

Because of the belief in the Bible is so large, is why so many people believe that there is a problem with homosexuals!!! Don't feel like an outcast cause of that, it doesn't matter what they think, the Creator I believe in will accept you just as you are and not damn you to hell or consider you an abomination!! As a matter of fact He made you!! He already knew who you'd be!! He makes no mistakes.Remember that!!! That is why you can't feel God in any religion!! Man made religion not God!!
