Jeffrey Epstein arrested on sex trafficking charges.

No he got off lightly last time. They charged him with soliciting prostitution and gave him 18 months in Palm Beach County stockade (not a normal prison). He got to use his wealth to hire private security and still work including corporate trips.

The United States attorney in 2008 allowed Epstein to get away with a slap on the wrist. That attorney is now Trump's labor secretary.

Federal prosecutors in Miami initially drafted a 53-page indictment against Mr. Epstein. But in 2008, those prosecutors — led by Mr. Acosta, then the region’s United States attorney, and now Mr. Trump’s labor secretary — struck a deal with Mr. Epstein’s lawyers that allowed him to avoid federal charges. Instead, Mr. Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution.

Under the federal charges, Mr. Epstein could have faced life in prison. After the deal, he served 13 months in jail. He had work-release privileges for six days a week, 12 hours each day, during which a private driver picked him up and took him to a nearby office.

Curious to see the Trumpettes and Usual Suspects who love to play 6 degrees of separation between Obama or the Clintons to any unsavory character strangely quiet about Trump's links, huh?
It reflects poorly on Trump that he ever considered Epstein a friend.

Glad Trump banned him from Mar-a-Lago after he was reported for recruiting an underage girl and was the only high profile person who gladly helped a victim's case against Epstein.

The first comes from James Patterson's investigative book into Epstein, Filthy Rich.

Sourcing on the second, an interview with Bradley Edwards a lawyer for some of Epstein's victims. The probative portion comes right around the 5 minute mark.

"The only thing that I can say about President Trump is that he is the only person who, in 2009 when I served a lot of subpoenas on a lot of people, or at least gave notice to some pretty connected people, that I want to talk to them, is the only person who picked up the phone and said, let’s just talk. I’ll give you as much time as you want. I’ll tell you what you need to know, and was very helpful"
