Nike reportedly pulls "Betsy Ross flag" shoes over concerns from Colin Kaepernick

No, I don't support the "one drop rule" such as when mixed black/white people are automatically labeled "black". But they shouldn't be labeled "white", either. We're a mixture of both and have our own unique experiences. It's racist to say someone isn't "black enough", as if there's certain behavior or experiences that decide your ethnicity.
We’re all mixed when you come down to it; some more than others. Have you taken a DNA test? Mine shows mostly English/Irish/Northern European but also 9% Iberian and a slim smattering of Mediterranean and North African. I have a more legitimate claim to being African-American than Elizabeth Warren has to being Native American.

Still, this goes back to how Kaepernick was raised and what he is claiming now.

I am looking at capabilities. The fringe right has weapons and ex-military training. The fringe left has milkshakes and sticks.

I think the fringe right will start an armed revolt against government as the left will come to dominate politics. All they need to is take out the power grid and it's chaos. The military knows the power grid is vulnerable and impossible to defend. Ex-military know this too.
I don't see your average American voting for the far left, much less the far left coming to power. The Democrats are alienating the moderate majority of their own base in favor of chasing the progressives. Multiple statistics have shown the Democrats veering sharply to the left on the political spectrum, while Republicans have stayed about the same. Your average American moderate is closer to the Republicans than to the far-left Democrats, and the Democrats have failed consistently to speak to issues that your average American faces, while Trump has. That's why Clinton lost 2016, and it's why the Democrats are so far on track to lose 2020.

I see the Democratic rhetoric about the border getting more and more extreme, and when Trump wins 2020, mass riots will break out and potentially escalate. Antifa and other far-left outlets are already calling on the left to arm themselves and prepare for conflict. We also know that Antifa loves to start fights and are willing to attack anyone and then put the blame on their victims for being supposed Nazis or right-wing extremists when that is clearly not true.

Remember I am talking about the fringe right revolting not the election of the fringe left to power.

I do not consider antifa a group that can start a revolt. For one they are anti-military so lack any training. Mean while the fringe right has "militia" groups already.

I don't have to take a DNA test. I have a black father and white mother, like Colin's birth parents. You having distant African ancestry doesn't make you black (North Africans generally aren't black, obviously).

Saying that he is white and denying the black side of his heritage is racism: https://www.google.com/amp/s/splinternews.com/just-how-black-is-colin-kaepernick-1793861600/amp

I also chafe when Obama is described as "black", to be fair.

Go back far enough, everyone has a lineage out of Africa.

For the sake of argument, let’s say you are exactly 50/50, what race are you? You brought up “mixed” earlier, but you also seem to be against me for 1) claiming to be black and 2) for claiming Kaepernick to be white. Are you saying we should all just admit we’re all mixed and drop the racial BS? If so, I’m 100% in agreement with you.

I'm mixed between Northern and Central European and West African, as for as I know. I don't use "race" as that's not very accurate and is only somewhat helpful in forensic anthropology. Ethnicity is more accurate.

Regardless of what you think of the validity of biological race, race certainly exists as a social construct and exerts a powerful influence over our culture. Mulattos (people of mixed black/white parentage like Colin and I) have unique cultural experiences and perspectives that set us apart from those with both parents deemed as belonging to the same race.

Agreed and that’s what modern genetics has taught us: “race” is a social construct, not a biological fact. So when people make racial claims, regardless of their political side, they are being “racist” and more emotional than factual.

Yes and no. Using DNA they can find the race of a person. They do it when they find decayed bodies. They put together a estimated age, a gender and then using DNA they give it a race. Then put that description out through all missing persons.

Genetics and race is a political bomb.

Trace not race, but geographical heritage. "Race" is equal to two identical cars but with different paint jobs and trim.

There are difference outside of skin colour. Skulls have clear differences. However as you said this is geographical as it was an evolutionary adaptation. Presently that factor or barrier has been removed due to modern transportation. So who knows in the future they could be a new skull types as the species becomes more homogenized due to modern technology. Although space travel could produce a new type due to the lack of gravity.

Reminds me of South Park.

....annnnd what do you interpret those shapes to mean in the present day?

A genetic heritage no different than traits (allele) like hair or eye colour. Also a tool for identification in forensics not just with humans but other species and variants of when other data is lacking.

Sure, just like the paint color and trim on identical trucks can identify the place where they are made. Does that really make any significant difference between them in your opinion?

Flag Code of Conduct:
§8. Respect for flag

d. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

A lot of false patriots tut-tutting about **** they don't know crap about.

That's referring to a flag itself being used as apparel. Not apparel that has a flag pattern on it. Big difference. Or do you really think this girl wearing only a bathing suit? ;)
