Does anyone feel like this is normal or acceptable?

I saw this article today and although it's not surprising, it never seizes to disgust me how far out of balance humankind has gone, and things are going to get much worse before they get better.

Nearly half of global wages received by top 10%, survey finds
The real problem is that there is no end to it. Greed has no natural limit. So as the wealth piles up in the hands of the very greedy, very lucky, very clever people who wanted it the most, they will not be satiated by it. A million dollars is not enough. A hundred million dollars is not enough. A BILLION dollars is not enough. No amount of money, property, or power is ever going to be enough. And when one of these pigs finally dies of old age and gluttony, there is another one right behind him/her to take their place.

The only solution for it is that we have to become aware of the ultimate destructiveness of the problem, and so be always vigilant in restraining our individual and collective greed. Because once it takes hold of a person, or of a group of people, or of a business enterprise, or it infect a whole culture, it poisons everything it touches. And it spreads like a plague. Because when any one of us becomes more greedy and socially malignant in our desire to own and control everything and everyone around us, everyone ELSE around us becomes frightened and defensive, and reacts by becoming more selfish and greedy, themselves.

Currently, our whole culture is seriously poisoned by greed, to the point that we think this is "normal human behavior". We think this is how humans have always behaved, and always will behave. Our greed has become so omnipresent that we think it's a phenomena akin to gravity. Like it's a law of nature ... of human nature. So we don't even question it, anymore. We just automatically justify it as being inevitable, and even appropriate.

Sooner or later things will dramatically change. Hopefully sooner
You're right.
But people don't want to take drastic action. You can't continue to put Band-Aids on gangrene, though. At some point, you've gotta amputate.

Only God through His Kingdom will do it. (Daniel 2:44; Revelation 11:18).

Take care.

Very true. I think that at one point it's not even about money anymore. It's about the thrill of becoming more and more powerful. It's an addiction. Like a drug addict they never get enough and the more they have, the more they crave, and like an addict, they don't care about the consequences as long as they get their fix.

I heard something recently on a Hidden Brain podcast.
As I recall....Ameristanians who earn over $50K/year are
in the top 1% worldwide. This suggests that perhaps
nearly everyone in the USA is in the top 10%.
Do we have too much? What should we do about it?

If you feel like you have too much, find a charity that means something to you and pay it forward. It can be anything, a hospital, an animal shelter, a family that you know is struggling... whatever you think is right. There are so many out there who need help.

I don't feel that I have too much.
It even seems that I should have more.
