God's Position On Homosexual Sex

In response to a statement made yesterday about the plight of those who have homosexual sex, I posted the following, and believe it's worthy of further discussion/debate.

Heterosexuals don't choose to be heterosexual, they just are.
Homosexuals don't choose to be homosexuals, they just are.

If heterosexuals fornicate they've committed a sin
If homosexuals fornicate they've committed a sin

Because heterosexuals find it almost impossible not to fornicate, god created marriage so they could have sex with no repercussions. *
Because homosexuals find it almost impossible not to fornicate, god said, "Tough nuts!" Keep your zipper up or go to Hell. **

As I see it, this is god's position to a T, but hardly complementary. In fact, I regard it as inexcusably vile.

Agree? Good!

Disagree? Why?

* 1 Corinthians 7:2
"But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband."

**Leviticus 20:13,

"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10,
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Wrong premise.

The relationship between biology and sexual orientation is a subject of research. While scientists do not know the exact cause of sexual orientation

I think it is the position of the ancient men who wrote the Bible to a T, not God’s position.

You are describing a small group of mankind's "position to a T", not God's. A power capable of existing for eternity and creating a Universe containing 100 Billion galaxies each with 100 Billion stars is certainly not going to condemn an act of nature. A truly all loving, all knowing and all powerful God would only want everyone to love each other, not harm each other and live happy lives.

OTOH, I can see why Satan and his minions would want people to hate each other and condemn each other.

Agreed. There's no straight or gay gene since sex is so deeply wired into our evolution it's a culmination of things. Obviously it's not choice. Actions are a choice such as Trump or Bill Clinton raping a woman, but who each of us finds desirable, who we prefer, is not a choice. We can't help who we fall in love with. We can only choose what we do about it.

So what? Assuming you're heterosexual, do you remember choosing to be so? My bet is that if you don't remember it's because you never did make a choice. And that if you say you do remember, you're fibbing. So, just as heterosexuals don't choose to be heterosexual, homosexuals don't choose to be homosexuals, they just are.

Yeah, although this takes us pretty far afield from the issue of god's supposed relationship with his earthly creatures.

No, it doesn't. It separates the power of God, and therefore God's true nature, from the perceptions of semi-literate desert nomads over 2000 years ago.
