Leavening?
As in...you are the thing that makes the forum rise?
I think the anonymity of forums reveals the deep, unfiltered personalities of the people behind the anonymous name. Obviously many people here are angry and hateful but I think that stems from fear. Fear based on uncertainty about their lives, fear of the unknown (the greatest fear of all) and frustration that they are not (or will not) achieve their dreams. Therefore, IMO, they participate in "displaced aggression" AKA "Kick the Cat" behavior. Attacking others as a means to relieve those fears and frustrations. You guys are so mean. Average. That's it, I need another shot of leavening....tonight it's going to be Jägermeister to celebrate my German ancestry. Since I'm an American Heinz 57, tomorrow it might either be Drambuie, Bushmills or Plymouth Gin to celebrate the majority of my other 56 flavors. That's it, I'm leavening too.

Anonymity is what makes this forum interesting, and certainly a lot safer.
Of course i see the day coming when everyone will be easily located and known by their real names. Internet hell is fast approaching. Imagine that, privacy, a thing of the past.
Don't you think hiding your identity weakens most arguments?
I think people's true identity comes out with anonymity.Don't you think hiding your identity weakens most arguments?
It's two-edged sword: Anonymity frees people to reveal their innermost thoughts, but it can also remove most of their civility.Don't you think hiding your identity weakens most arguments?
