Why do atheist believe something can come from nothing?

I agree with that too!

Thought you would, I said that term for a reason. You have little other than debasing the side that disagrees with your beliefs, you point and laugh instead of substantiating your assertions. This is no surprising trend.

Ha ha ha! Do I? What assertions have I made? That theists don't think rationally? Well think about it rationally. How could one assert theism on the basis of rational thought? Show me that and I'll concede - so far, all I've seen are appeals to medieval apologetics and sneering snarkisms about "something from nothing" being impossible - which probably isn't even close to what many atheists imagine - let alone 'believe' - in any case - but unlike the theists around here, I don't pretend to know what atheists 'believe' - only what the word itself tells me they don't. So if you want a substantiated rational argument - show me yours and I'll show you mine.

No, Theists just reject the positive claim that there is no god. Theists do not rationally think there is sufficient evidence to the belief of that claim; the speculative theory of 'no god'. If we found evidence for the that claim then we would start believing the Atheist belief system.

There is no atheist belief system. Are you a serious poster, or just tossing out silliness?

Could this explain it? :D
\Let's call mass-energy nothing, says the OP. On the exact contrary, let's call it everything.

Let's say that everything that exists is composed of it, and that all the universe's phenomena are the result of the properties of mass-energy.

And suddenly there's no problem.

It is evidence, fwiw, you can hang any label on it. Atheism was abnormal in humanity, still is, no matter what atheism claims.
Who wants to be with the crowd; I like abnormal. I don't like popular music, I enjoy diversity; if you say atheism is abnormal; that suits me fine,

Alright high-and-mighty, give us dumb people one single shred of evidence for your 'no god' theory. Aside from a hypothesis that you like, what is your evidence?
How do you prove something doesn't exist?
Do you believe in Zeus?
Do you believe in Poseidon?
What about Hermes or Apollo?

What is the evidence for their non-existence.

Have you heard about Russell's Teapot? It is the same with evidence of non-existence of all gods.

How about you school us on your knowledge of ancient pagan beliefs and how their polytheism worked, what their deities meant? enlighten us on noble one.

Have you heard about Russell's Teapot?

It should have been called "Bertrand Russell's mega-fallacy", you do understand that Russell's teapot is just three different fallacies stacked on top of each other? I've already called Evangellicalhumanist out for this already, I'm not repeating myself. You can not glorify fallacies like that just because it feels good to you.

How can that be possible? that's even more absurd then half of your false caricatures of theism.

What knowledge do you have that proves it is not possible? Also not sure of which caricatures of theism you are revering too. I'm happy to listen and be corrected.

I am not knowledgeable on ancient pagan beliefs - but I note that you ignored my request to explain why those gods don't exist.

I stand to be corrected, but I think you are mixing up Bertrand Russell's explanations; the stacked fallacy relates to his 'Golden Mountain' explanation.

You seem to be getting angry; why do you think, "It feels good to me"?

Yes, that was obvious.

but I note that you ignored my request to explain why those gods don't exist.

No, that was on purpose. You're not going to make me squirm out of whatever assumptions you have about ancient pagan beliefs. Since you're not knowledgeable on that topic, your question was useless and a null attempt.

why do you think, "It feels good to me"?

Because you think (or act) that you are exempt from promoting such fallacies. You think that using fallacies like that can prove or support your position, but maybe you're just not too bright.

Sometimes it gives me a chuckle how Christians are attacked, especially when atheist and Christians have many thing in common. Live and let live is my motto. Here's a few and there is more for anyone that wants to research. :)

Hey @Road Warrior thanks for the win frube. I like facts and truth. Did you notice none challenged that post? It's all fact and shows truth.
Anyhow no one is perfect and no one knows what happens next, if anything does.
All anyone has to go by is what they think or believe, atheist or christian, neither knows because no one has any evidence to show otherwise.

But you have not explained why they are fallacies; I have told you that I believe you are incorrect on your Russell argument, why don't you correct me or clarify what you meant.

I admit I know little about ancient gods, and you seem to think that validates you not believing in them .. or something, I'm not sure really.

I make no assumptions, I come to conclusions based on evidence (or lack of it); I will change my mind if supplied with good evidence to the contrary.

Which atheists are you referring to? Atheism is simply the lack of belief in a god. It does not require a belief in any particular origin of the universe or anything else.
I am an atheist my self, I just thought the video was funny :) It was made by a believer as an "attack" on atheism. I didn't actually think that so many people thought it was a serious video.
