Vote For Trump. He Wont Let Owning A Bible Become Illegal

"On yesterday [6/17/19] episode of The Jim Bakker Show, Jim Bakker, his wife Lori, and guests Mike and Cindy Jacobs talked about how they routinely pray for Donald Trump.

That in itself isn’t all that unusual… but their reasoning needs some work.

Mike Jacobs said Trump should be praised for surrounding himself with other Christians:

He listens to godly counsel,” Mike Jacobs interjected. “He far surpasses most [previous Republican presidents] in terms of the godly counsel he has around him, that he listens to … Who ever would have thought that we would have a president who so surrounds himself with godly counsel? There is a blessing that comes from that.”

Right. The blessing that leads a “godly” president to put refugee children in cages. . . .

Cindy Jacobs said Trump was becoming more Christian — who knew that was even possible? — and hoped he succeeded in doing something completely illegal:

We’re seeing him become more and more godly,” Cindy Jacobs replied. “We’re seeing him want to put Bible reading back in school. Come on. Bible reading back in school and prayer?”

She says that like he actually gives a damn about a book he’s never read and thinks it’s something more than a cheap applause line.

But the most appalling reason came from Jim Bakker himself:

“All the things that have been stolen from the church, he’s wanting to restore,” said Jim Bakker. “He’s wanting to restore the dignity and power to the church and not take the Bible away. We’re so close — they don’t get this — but we’re so close to the Bible being illegal.[2:08 in the video above]

I promise you the liberal agenda doesn’t have “Burn all the Bibles” on the list. No one’s criminalizing books. Why Bakker thinks we’re “so close” to this happening, I don’t know. He doesn’t either. But if he instills fear into his gullible audience, maybe they’ll buy more Giant Buckets of Food.

Is that the same Jim Bakker as the famous Jim And Tammy?

"Fallen television evangelist Jim Bakker lost his lucrative PTL ministry and later wife Tammy Faye after a scandal and his conviction for bilking followers out of $158 million. Now he's rebuilding his life with a brand-new wife.

Bakker, 58, married Lori Beth Graham of Phoenix on Sept. 4, Bakker's publicist said. After serving five years in prison, Bakker now works for a Los Angeles church without salary. His new wife, who is in her early 40s, is a youth counselor in a program associated with the First Assembly Church of Phoenix.

Bakker resigned as PTL president in 1987 when he learned a newspaper was about to report his 1980 sexual encounter with church secretary Jessica Hahn. He was divorced from Tammy Faye, who appeared with him on PTL television shows, six years ago. She has since married Bakker's former best friend."

Yeah. Jim Bakker has himself been illegal before....And probably still is, selling his crap on TV and calling the proceeds a gift.

While I think what he said is an exaggeration on the face of it, many politicians do ridicule people which Biblical views not the least of which would include Obama and Biden famous for their small town people clinging to guns and religion quotes. And we have the talk show host Oprah as well who is critical about the Bible. (although she was known as a gospel preacher as a grade school girl )

Oprah preaching with another talk show host Steve Colburn on their favorite Bible verses. Who knew?

She is.

Tamara Faye Messner was an American Christian singer, evangelist, entrepreneur, author, talk show host, and television personality. She initially gained notice for her work with The PTL Club, a televangelist program she co-founded with her then-husband Jim Bakker in 1974. Wikipedia
Born: March 7, 1942, International Falls, MN
Died: July 20, 2007, Loch Lloyd, MO

I was a bit disappointed that she was describing a time in prayer when she was thanking God and God interrupted her and said 'no, don't thank me, thank you!" I find that troubling and not very God centric

Ugh. The self righteous sanctimoniousness of these liars is what I hate.

I don't know... I don't know if it was a lie... it sounded odd. I think some of those people were more emotionally grounded than Biblically and I think the financial pressures of running an expensive network might get the better of some people and instead of being God centered might veer off.

Some of the best preachers don't make much money, but the propsoerity preachers feel God blessing them financially is a badge of God's approval... but... I don't think so.... God blesses on His terms not ours and it probably looks not much like 'the American dream"

Hmm, I'd argue that liberalism IS a religion not a political preference. So, in that vein, I guess I understand the concerns of those folks. :D

And, at least, from the liberal social media companies dealings and attitudes toward conservatives I don't think some concern is unwarranted -- with their "ban all the things that hurt my feelings" attitude.

Baker could have a point. The homosexual candidate thinks the Bible is hate speech.

In Quebec Canada there's a new law that makes wearing religious symbol jewelery or adornment illegal. And in Toronto Canada religious speech can be deemed hate speech depending on who hears you speak, and you can be arrested.

This happened not long ago in Toronto's "Gay Village". They self segregate there I guess.

You've only been a member a week, and this is the second thread where I've seen you bemoan how awful the homosexuals are.
Is there something you need to share...? This is a safe space.

I find it pretty unlikely to happen in the US. The Christian population is surely strong enough to make sure that doesn't happen, further, many of the folks I know who are atheist would argue against it as well. Whole freedom of speech/religion thing.
