The word translated as 'filthiness' in the KJV is μολυσμός [molusmos, also found as molysmos] meaning 'defilement', 'pollution'.

Paul imagines both body and 'spirit' [πνεῦμα pneuma] ─ perhaps he means 'mind' though that would normally be psukhe / psyche ─ as capable of self-defilement. The actual concepts being employed here are vague but emotive.

Wow! That is one of the best questions I have ever seen. I don't think that the spirit can be contaminated with this world or evil.
